This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the start-up of Kilkenny Cheese Limited. Kilkenny Cheese is a joint venture between Tirlán and Dutch family business Royal A-ware, a 130-year-old company with strong positions in EU and global markets. The facility is to be located at a greenfield site adjacent to Tirlán’s specialised nutrition facility at Belview, Co Kilkenny.

Role Summary
Based in Belview in South Kilkenny the role reports to the Site Manager and will have four direct reports. The Supply Chain Manager main purpose is to coordinate, organise, and oversee all activities involved in the supply of raw materials production and distribution of the company's goods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement efficient site production schedules in line with customer demand profile and milk supply to the site
- Manage and delegate work load of three site planning team and one warehouse lead
- Monitor and manage the schedule of milk and other raw material intake
- Engage with Operations in the scheduling of production activities and manage local systems for all third party logistics interfaces with the plant
- Develop and oversee the shipment process to and from KCL including the management of the selected freight forwarder(s) for finished goods
- Incorporate maintenance and repair plans into the overall production plan
- Manage the local administration process for all for all plant materials and stock requirements
- Optimise Plant Quality targets by minimising the over and under supply of raw materials
- Analyse data and trends to maximise forecasting accuracy, identify and drive improvements in the plan and the planning process
- Assess effectiveness of plan and make recommendations for corrective action and implement through the production plan and process
- Manage the plants relationship with all of the central functions such as Supply Chain, Milk Planning and Transport
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all data in ERP system relevant to internal production and external supply chains
- Be the Subject Matter Expert for the Planning department in ERP activity
- Tracking of Make vs Forecasts, ensuring most up to date information available to both internal and external stakeholders at all times
- Take overall management responsibility for intake and despatch areas from a GMP, health and safety and throughput perspective.
- Execute and develop Risk Management policies and procedures working closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise risk across all stakeholders
Experience
- 3 + years in a production environment preferably in the Dairy, Food & Beverage or Pharma sector in a GMP context
- Will possess production planning experience
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends and make recommendations
Person Profile
- Knowledge of Dairy or similar food processing industry
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
