The opportunity

Glanbia plc is currently seeking to recruit a Tax Manager.  This is a permanent opportunity and will report to the Senior Tax Manager.

 

Location

The location of the role can be in either Kilkenny, ideally, (i.e. at Head Office) or Citywest Dublin office or Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.  A blended working arrangement is available through our ‘Smart Working’ model, which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

 

Position Overview

Working closely with colleagues in Group Tax, finance and commercial colleagues and with external tax advisors, you will be exposed to a variety of work in our Group Tax department, including contributing to the Group’s tax reporting process, tax budgeting & forecasting, assessing the impact of ‘Pillar II’, and involvement in various tax audits across all tax heads.  This is an ideal role for a tax candidate with a good accountancy understanding and who is excited to be exposed to a variety of projects and work streams. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep involvement in the delivery of Group year-end tax reporting, including working closely with your Group Tax colleagues, the Group Accounts team, our Business Units, external tax advisors & auditors
  • Key elements of budgeting & forecasting the Group’s effective tax rate and payments. This will include liaising with Group Treasury and Glanbia Business Services USA
  • Working closely with Group Tax colleagues, modelling the implications of Pillar II and work on the design & implementation of the required process and systems
  • Involvement in the resolution of tax audits, primarily corporation tax audits (both domestic and overseas) but also other tax head audits, including payroll and indirect taxes.
  • Review of statutory financial statements (particularly of the tax disclosures) and preparation of tax returns
  • Work with your Group Tax/Transfer Pricing colleagues in the management of the Group’s cross-border intercompany transactions and ensuring same are compliant in the relevant jurisdictions
  • Contribute to business restructurings and ad-hoc tax planning projects
  • Working closely with Group Tax colleagues, support the Business Units on the tax aspects of the integration of acquisitions
  • Identify opportunities and contribute to the development and implementation of corporation tax planning
  • Keep abreast of tax developments nationally and internationally, and particularly how such may impact Glanbia.

 

Required Education & Experience:

 

  • Professional qualification in Accounting (e.g. ACA, ACCA or CPA) and Tax (e.g. AITI)
  • Third level degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or another relevant discipline
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills is required; experience of SAP would be an advantage
  • Previous experience within a multinational or ‘Big 4’ accountancy firm would also be an advantage
  • Commercially astute with strong business acumen
  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to work both on your own initiative and within a team environment to deliver Group Tax’s significant value-added brief.
