The Opportunity
Manage, coach and develop of team of five, responsible for all aspects of production and material planning, capacity planning, inventory management and supporting month end financial activities. Drive continuous improvement culture, refining processes, systems and tools, moving towards a more automated way of working and eliminating time consuming, non-value added tasks. This permanent position will report to Head of Planning & Logistics EU.
Capacity Planning
- Lead factory capacity planning, collating demand and capacity data and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver business targets through optimal production manning. Also support capital expenditure and co-man project requirements.
- Lead Monthly Supply Review, focussing on latest demand/capacity requirements, forecasts, implications on labour, cost recovery and material supply risks.
- Input capacity and supply challenges/opportunities into Monthly S&OP and S&OE.
Material Supply and Effective Planning
- Manage Production and Material Planning team providing tactical support to ensure that short term (0-3 month) production and customer requirements are met.
- Enable the delivery of the business fill rate, OTIF and inventory targets, through effective material management including safety stock settings, master data, and assessment of inventory levels.
- Support NPD/Renovation projects ensuring on time material availability and production planning for product trials/launches and effective phase out of bespoke material to minimise write off exposure.
- Collaboration with Supply/Demand Planning, Procurement, Technical and R&D to deliver a significant reduction in YOY material and packaging write offs through effective system configuration and action plans to exhaust, sell back and substitute stock on the back of delists, redesign projects and demand changes.
- Accountable for forecast and order board management of contract/own label customer which are not managed via standard Supply/Demand Planning processes.
- Track and further develop key KPI’s across Production and Material Planning.
Team Management
- Create SMART objectives for all direct reports in PDP system supporting regular reviews.
- Create development and succession plans.
- Oversee SOPs and documentation for core processes.
- Manage training plans and holiday/absence cover.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Degree in Supply Chain Management/related area or equivalent.
- In depth knowledge of planning processes , working in a highly matrixed organisation, a factory operating to various shift patterns and extensive understanding of ERP and MRP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with and analyse large sets of data.
- Strong computer (especially excel) and numeracy skills.
- Creative problem solving.
- Possess an excellent verbal and written communication.
- Time management and organisation skills are essential.
