Assistant Financial Controller, ASPAC
Job Purpose:
The role is a key member of the Accounting & Controls Team, responsible for the production of accurate and financial management accounts for all of the ASPAC legal entities. This role is a support role to the Financial Controller and acts as a liaison between the ASPAC Finance & Commercial teams. This role would require someone with strong communication and managerial skills. Candidates for this role need to be self-motivated and highly organized.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assisting the Financial Controller on the ongoing operations of the finance function in ASPAC and its support of the commercial operations.
- Facilitate and review of monthly balance sheet for internal control and reporting purposes.
- Act as a liaison between the Genpact ASPAC team and the Glanbia team, while overseeing, supporting, and co-managing Genpact in the successful delivery of their responsibilities.
- Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes, including responsibility for balance sheet integrity.
- Coordinating with key stakeholders and contributors both internally and externally as part of the GPN International divisional Group and Statutory audits.
- Ensure that the required accounting control procedures are in place and are effective. This includes the control and reconciliation of the Balance Sheet in line with Glanbia policy
- Project managing key business processes throughout the year including month end and year end cycles, and internal and external audits, from an accounting and controlling standpoint.
- Assist with tax and regulatory compliance.
- Review and approval of intercompany journals and payment requests.
- Ensuring that commercial and statutory financial reports are completed on time and being continuously developed to meet the changing demands of the business.
- Promote and maintain a rigorous control environment with appropriate level of documentation and controls compliance testing. Identify areas for control improvement and working with business partners to implement change to improve the control environment.
- Ensuring compliance with all accounting, tax, and legal requirements across the countries in the region.
Key Challenges & Success Measures
- Assist in managing and partnering finance teams in multiple locations.
- Ensuring that processes, systems, and controls are operating effectively across a rapidly expanding business and are implemented into new acquisitions.
- Assist in managing tax and legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions in conjunction with group tax and legal departments and external advisors.
- Continually developing the financial reporting of the commercial business to ensure that it is providing relevant and insightful information that drives decision making.
- Managing projects which require cross-functional and group participation in project teams.
Skills, Know How and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional qualification such as CPA/ACCA/CIMA is an advantage)
- Minimum 3+ years PQE experience in a supervisory or assistant controller role in a multinational environment or fast moving and dynamic business.
- Proven experience in a Financial Control team.
- In depth knowledge of accounting and financial principles as well as technical accounting skills.
- Results driven, must be able to engage with multiple stakeholders in particular working directly within/across international markets and within an FMCG environment.
- Experience in working in an environment of rapidly changing workload, tight deadlines, in the context of high expectations and tight time frames. Ability to influence.
- A self-starter who has the ability to work well within a team and across geographical boundaries.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, good judgement making and logical decision maker.
- Proven track record of stakeholder management.
- Proven ability of dealing with ambiguity.
