The Opportunity 

The Finance Director for Body & Fit will provide financial leadership and strategic direction to GPN’s Body & Fit business based in Amsterdam. This role will partner closely with the General Manager and leadership team to create and deliver the long-term strategic plan, to create and deliver against the annual financial plan, and to ensure the right business processes and systems are in place to enable long-term profitable growth.  The role will also support in defining new investments and market expansions that will deliver growth, market leadership and increasing profitability. 

 

This permanent position will report to the VP Finance, International.

  • Work closely with the Body & Fit GM and leadership team to create and deliver the 3-year strategic plan that drives continuous revenue growth and margin improvement
  • Lead the delivery of the financial performance of the business in line with the annual budget working closely with the leadership team
  • Direct and own the annual financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Lead the Finance team and ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting of the financial performance of the business; explain actual business results to the executive team through clear and accurate written and verbal presentations on a monthly basis
  • Identify and drive initiatives that improve the overall profitability of the business
  • Lead the development of business cases for strategic projects and initiatives and ensure financial commitments are delivered
  • Develop a comprehensive set of metrics and analytics that will accurately represent business performance including direct-to-consumer KPIs that help monitor and drive the business
  • Work closely with the European Accounting team to ensure the financial statements are complete and accurate; support the group and statutory financial audit process with input and information requests as needed
  • Drive the continuous development and enhancement of systems, processes and procedures to improve analysis, reporting and decision-support.
  • Deliver bespoke financial information and guidance for key strategic and operational decisions.

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Degree educated or equivalent as well as being a qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • A proven track record of Financial Leadership and delivery of financial performance at a regional level
  • Experience leading finance teams and owning P&L delivery in the CPG/FMCG sector as well
  • Direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience highly preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen and strong appreciation of the challenges of growing a business in both e-commerce and brick and mortar retail
  • Strong motivational skills and ability to lead a team based across Europe
  • High level of ability in terms of project planning, prioritisation and critical thinking will be essential
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and well-organized
  • Excellent computer skills including fluency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience of SAP and Business Objects is highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
