Tirlán is offering a unique opportunity for a graduate to join our Central Automation team as an Automation Associate. This role will be onsite.
This role will be located across our Ballyragget and Belview sites and the successful graduate will be required to travel between these site. This role reports to Central Automation Lead.
Responsibilities
• As an Automation/OT Engineer with Tirlán there is huge opportunity to collaborate with end users from the shop floor to Senior management level across multiple functions.
• Automation and Operational Technology is recognised as a valuable resource and as a key enable to continually grow our business in a sustainable way by reducing waste and adding value.
• In this role , you will work within the site Engineering team in the largest multi-purpose integrated dairy plant in Europe, servicing the various manufacturing processes including Cheese, Butter, Milk & Whey protein powders
• The role will include supporting frontline operators and technicians to troubleshoot incidents and perform Root cause analysis including designing and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• The role will include working with the CAPEX project engineering team to scope, design, build and commission projects from small upgrades to multimillion euro investments.
• The role will include working with System Integrators, OEMs and Product vendors and Specialists to investigate new technologies and upgrade opportunities.
• The role will include working with IT to continuously improve our cybersecurity stance and enable our vision for Factory of the Future.
• You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technology including
• DCS, SCADA, HMIs such as SattLine, 800xA, Wonderware Intouch and Ignition.
• PLCs e.g. Allen Bradley , Siemens , ABB
• Kepware OPCs, Aspentech IP21 Historian, MS SQL Databases and MS Reporting.
• Robotics and Vision systems
• On Premise Physical and Virtual Computerisation and Storage
• Integration with Business systems including SAP Enterprise Resource Planning , Quality management and Logistic management systems
• Process Control including Model based predictive control
• Industrial Networks and Firewalls to allow secure IT/OT convergence
• Backup and Replication
• Condition monitoring for predictive maintenance
• You will have the opportunity to practice and improve the following processes: incident response and troubleshooting, change control, continuous improvement, design reviews, software development, testing and validation, cybersecurity audit preparation and implementing of security measures, disaster recovery planning , testing and response simulation, system maintenance and lifecycle management, 3rd party user remote access management, development of users requirements and standards, project management
Requirements
• High academic record to date in the following fields of study: Engineering (Mechanical, Automation, Process, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental) or related discipline; and expected minimum of a 2.2 honours primary degree
• Ambition to progress successfully in a career in engineering in an exciting, ever-changing and challenging environment

• Communicates clearly and can influence at all levels
