PRODUCTION QUALITY ASSURANCE ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING TECHNICIAN

JOB SUMMARY
The Environmental Monitoring Technician is responsible for managing all aspects of the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) at our Springfield, MO facility. This role involves monitoring various microorganisms in surfaces, air, compressed air, and water.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT RESTRICTIVE)

  • Collect environmental samples according to the Environmental Monitoring Program SOP.
  • Prepare sampling devices for use.
  • Ship samples to a contract laboratory for processing.
  • Record results in  spreadsheet and file documents appropriately.
  • Generate the monthly reports for presentation to management.
  • Oversee out-of-spec (OOS) sampling requirements for environmental testing.
  • Ensure proper calibration, use, and storage of sampling equipment.
  • Serve as a backup for QA Technicians and PRP Technicians for basic job functions.
  • Regular attendance is essential for this position.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education, Training:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Two years of experience in quality assurance in a food, supplement, or pharmaceutical company is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices and quality assurance fundamentals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work from written instructions (SOPs, emails, etc.) and verbal instructions.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Works with minimal supervision and remains productive at all times.
  • Must be results-focused and oriented toward accomplishing team goals.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including daily overtime and some weekends when needed.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in SAP is a plus.
