The Opportunity 

 

We are looking to recruit a Head of Retail Media, to lead the development and execution of GPN’s Retail & Performance Media strategy.  You will have responsibility for overseeing all aspects of Retail Media including Campaign Strategy & Planning, Execution, Optimisation and Insights & Analytics, with the objective being to drive customer acquisition and loyalty, building brand awareness, engagement and conversion. 

You will work across the breadth of GPN’s European portfolio of brands (namely Optimum Nutrition, SlimFast and BSN) and across a variety of Digital Channels, from Marketplaces (where winning on Amazon is key to delivering our performance ambition), to Bricks & Clicks (where winning with the likes of Tesco or Holland & Barrett is a key part of our Omni-Channel strategy), to DTC (where the strategic acceleration of ON.Com in Europe is integral to building brand advocacy, equity and customer lifetime loyalty)

This role can be based in London or Amsterdam, reports to the E-Commerce Director and sits within the E-Commerce Centre of Excellence.  The remit will span across Europe so the candidate will need strong networking and communication skills to manage a complex multi-functional and geographic stakeholder network.  The role will have responsibility for a Retail Media team in Europe and will work closely with the E-Commerce COE Leadership Team, as well as Central and In-Market Brand and Marketing teams.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Retail Media Strategy, aligned with business objectives and the E-Commerce strategy.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of performance marketing campaigns across digital channels including paid search, display advertising, SEO, social media advertising, affiliate marketing, and email marketing. Ensure campaigns are launched on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Define performance media KPIs in line with e-commerce strategic initiatives and monitor campaign performance metrics,  providing regular reports to the business, highlighting successes, areas for improvement, and actionable insights. Utilize data-driven insights to continuously optimize marketing campaigns for maximum ROI and performance. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, promoting a test and learn approach to ensure we are at the forefront of acquisition opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and technology partners to support performance marketing initiatives. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Create, manage and deploy budgets that meet strategic objectives, deliver positive return for GPN and industry leading brand experience
  • Present monthly MBRs and Strategic updates to internal stakeholders that highlight performance and learnings from a retail media perspective.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Retail Media team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage and/or to identify potential partners and opportunities for collaboration.

 

 

  The Skills you will bring to the team

 

  • Proven track record of success in Retail Media & Performance Marketing, with +5 years of experience in Digital Marketing, Retail Media, Performance Marketing and E-Commerce
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels, platforms, and tools, with expertise in areas such as paid search, display advertising, social media advertising, and email marketing.
  • Experience driving campaign strategy and execution across multiple digital platforms
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Performance Marketing and data analysis tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with or for Media agencies – highly competent in setting briefs, M&E and leading QBRs
  • Experience in customer acquisition channels such as Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube etc
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative marketing strategies that drive business results.
  • Comfortable presenting and influencing at all levels of an organisation and highly competent in the creation of presentations
  • Comfortable leading cross-functional projects to deliver high impact result
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably within the technology or e-commerce industry.
