Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The hourly rate for Illinois based employees for this role is $23.00/hour.

Schedule

1st Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm M-F

 

General Summary

Quality Technicians are responsible for managing and enforcing quality programs & procedures, and company established policies regarding the finished good manufacturing process and storage. Quality control technicians review, verify and test products across the three stages of production (incoming, in-process, and final) to ensure quality and food safety levels are met. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as Glanbia standards and specifications.
  • Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.     
  • Auditing the assigned area, and communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
  • Perform inspections across all stages of productions such as incoming raw materials and packaging, in-process, final inspection, and returns to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Perform sensory and quality evaluations on in-process and finished product.      
  • Support Distribution Centers and Warehouses process in regards to Finished Goods inspections, SAP transactions and releases.
  • Data entry in Logs pertaining to Quality Metrics.      
  • Perform SAP transactions for releases, holds, reworks and High Jump where applicable, and enter results into a computerized system, track and report results (GP/SAP/MS Office programs).
  • Perform cleaning verifications using ATP swabs and visual inspections to approve manufacturing rooms prior to production.
  • Records verification to ensure all production and quality documents are accurately completed in real-time during manufacturing process.
  • Complete written process, SOPs, and SSOPs deviations. 
  • Complete Simple Root Cause Investigations, Validations, CAPA, Environmental Control Program ECA, Customer Complaints Investigations and Document Control
  • Prepare and/or collect samples for laboratory testing for Raw Material receipts and Finished Product investigations.
  • Assist or back-up QA Supervisors weekly assignments.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Decision Making/Problem Solving

  • Interpret decision charts for potential non-conformances.
  • Evaluate cleaning practices related to facility and/or equipment and decide if additional cleaning is needed to meet the documented requirements.
  • Review products to ensure compliance to the specification.

 

Education

  • Minimum- High School or GED Certifications

 

Experience

  • At least 3 or more years’ experience
  • Food or pharmaceutical quality experience preferred

 

Other Experience

  • Understand GMP/Food Safety Requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
  • Computer Skills / MS Office / SAP.

 

Physical Demands

  • Occasional sitting
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending/stooping

 

Lifting Demands

  • Lift 25 lbs from 6 inches to waist level x 5 reps
