The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Manager to oversee all aspects of quality control in our nutritional premix facility. This role involves developing and managing quality processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a team of skilled professionals. This permanent, full-time position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and is fully onsite. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and Mentor: Manage and mentor laboratory and quality control staff.
- Quality Assurance: Supervise the inspection and release of raw materials and finished products.
- Testing Oversight: Ensure all materials and blends meet specifications using advanced instrumentation (HPLC, FT-IR, UV/VIS, ICPMS, particle size analyzer, etc.).
- Process Management: Handle out-of-specification investigations and corrective actions.
- Material Review: Oversee the review and disposition of deficient materials.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment and procedures for accurate, timely, and cost-effective analysis.
- Collaboration: Work with Manufacturing to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to audit standards and regulatory requirements.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Educational Background: BS in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 3-5 years in quality control and management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in writing and maintaining SOPs, analytical laboratory testing, and using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication abilities and team-oriented mindset.
- Work Ethic: Independent, proactive, detail-oriented, and organized.
- Flexibility: Ability to handle multiple tasks and work flexible hours.
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience with amino acids, vitamins, fine chemicals, and allergens.
- Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
