The Opportunity 

This position will be responsible for formulating nutrient premix based on customers’ request. Assuring regulatory compliance, fit customer applications, shelf life, process and stability. Will Participate in ingredient evaluation and provide internal blending instructions when needed. Follow thru with technically sound resolutions. This permanent position will report to the Formulation Scientist Manager.

• Develop formulas and quotations based on customers’ requirements
• Communication with customers technical personal and sales
• Assist and guide Junior formulators
• Research ingredients and applications
• Ensure ingredient compliance to customer’s specifications
• Troubleshoot application questions
• Writes product specification sheets and other related documents.
• Stays current with food fortification market trends and apply knowledge to product / prototype development.
• Performs organoleptic accelerated product comparative analysis to meet customer’s needs.
• Support the research and development of new ingredients, blends, processes, and finished products
• Responsible for staying abreast of new and innovative products and industry needs.
• Research, evaluate, and approve various processes and raw materials for their use in manufactured products as needed
• Resolve and answer technical inquiries on bulk ingredients and manufactured products as needed
• Other R & D responsibilities as needed
• Assist and communicate with Technical Services group, QA/QC, Procurement and Marketing.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

The Skills you will bring to the team 

• Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree (B. S.) and a minimum of two years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have some acumen for food and supplement processing
• Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost
• Optimum Presentation skills
• Understanding of regulatory compliance with cGMP, GRAS, and HAACP
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and possess team-based problem solving skills.
• Must be results focused and oriented toward accomplishment of team and organizational goals.

• Strong SAP knowledge is a plus
