The Opportunity
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist, you will play a crucial role in implementing Quality Systems across the Glanbia network. You will support our Quality Assurance and Quality Control team, managing multiple tasks on tight timelines to meet customer requests.This permanent position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and duties include but are not limited to the following; 

Key Responsibilities

  • Certified SQF Practitioner: Maintain and enhance our Food Safety & Quality Programs.
  • Manage Key QMS Programs: Oversee EMP, CAPA, Sanitation, Pest Control, auditing, and more.
  • Floor QA Duties: Perform QA tasks and cover for the QA Supervisor when needed.
  • Document Development: Collaborate with the QA Manager and Supervisor to create and revise SOPs, Specifications, SDS, Allergen Statements, and more.
  • Report Generation: Produce various QMS-related reports.
  • CAPA System: Key user of the Intelex system, conducting root cause analysis and managing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Customer Requests: Handle shelf-life extension requests promptly.
  • Audit Preparation: Prepare and review responses to internal and external audits, and develop action plans for corrective actions.
  • Leadership: Lead team members and represent the department in cross-functional meetings.
  • Issue Escalation: Ensure timely resolution of Quality System issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with all levels of personnel to resolve quality, technical, and service-related issues.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: BS/BA in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a related role with exposure to audits and Quality Systems.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Knowledge: Proficiency in HACCP, SQF, SAP, and MS Office Suite.
  • Physical Activity: Regularly involves talking, listening, sitting, and using hands and fingers. Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, and climbing.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and perform moderate physical activity.
  • Environmental Conditions: Exposure to moderate noise levels, humidity, intense heat and cold, and mechanical moving parts.

This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.  The annual salary for California-based employees for this role is $75,000 - $85,000.
