The Opportunity
Glanbia Nutritionals is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee site project engineering and maintenance functions. This role involves managing site-controlled budgeting, multi-year capex planning, and annual capex site spend. The successful candidate will lead the maintenance team, ensure the implementation of early management on projects, and provide technical and tactical engineering support to the operations director, maintenance manager, and plant managers. Responsibilities include preliminary engineering, overseeing design and construction of capital projects, and managing external contractors. This permanent position will report to the Engineering Manager and duties include but are not limited to the following; 

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead all onsite engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring seamless functionality and efficiency.
• Strategically develop and implement AM/PM pillars to enhance the maintenance team’s performance and reliability.
• Oversee and shape the annual site capital plan and budget, driving financial prudence and strategic investments.
• Coordinate budget and cash flow management with finance, the Engineering Manager, and the VP of Engineering to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Guarantee that all projects adhere to stringent standards, including USDA compliance, Grade A, and PMO requirements.
• Lead and facilitate critical activities and reviews among the General Contractor, Engineering firm, and project team, fostering collaboration and excellence.
• Create comprehensive startup and commissioning documents, and provide thorough training to plant staff for optimal operational readiness.
• Foster professional and transparent collaboration with internal teams, business partners, and customers, ensuring alignment and mutual success.

Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated success in managing projects and operating utility systems.
• Analytical Prowess: Exceptional ability to analyze scientific, technical, and financial documents.
• Communication: Skilled in effectively communicating with customers, regulatory agencies, and the business community.
• Writing Proficiency: Adept at crafting reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Presentation Skills: Experienced in presenting information to top management and public groups.
• Technical Savvy: Proficient in using email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics software.
• Organizational Skills: Capable of prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects, and delegating assignments efficiently.
