The Opportunity 

 

We are seeking a dynamic individual to manage and execute the capital strategy for the Flavor Producers Sites. This role is based in Sharonville, Ohio, with support for plants in New Jersey and California. In this role, you will manage capital projects from concept to completion, presenting updates to executives and ensuring clear objectives and timelines. Collaborate with stakeholders (PSM, Commercial, Operations, Quality, Safety) to meet project deliverables. Complete engineering projects per customer specifications, schedules, and budgets, coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors. This full-time position reports to the Engineering Manager – Specialities. and duties include but are not limited to;  

  • Capital Budget Management: Oversee the capital budget for sites, developing 1-to-5-year plans to outline investment needs that support business growth.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage both site-sustaining and strategic capital expenditure (capex) projects.
  • Project Planning: Develop project success criteria based on performance, schedule, and budget. Direct the development of action plans and resource management requirements.
  • Operational Improvement: Implement projects to improve operational costs, efficiency, yields, quality, and safety.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and solve technical problems with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and conserve costs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct and manage voice of the customer reviews, technical design reviews, and project progress reviews.
  • Engineering Application: Apply general engineering and technical principles to troubleshoot and implement improvements in various plant or project areas.
  • Project Documentation: Develop project packages for capex approval, ensuring compliance with procurement, contract, quality, and EHS requirements.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee third-party contractors throughout all project phases.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure project system design complies with state and federal regulations.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Utilize lean manufacturing processes to drive zero losses and uphold company standards.

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • BS in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to successful project completion.
  • Proficiency in basic math and ability to interpret technical data.
  • Proficient in personal computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics).
  • Basic knowledge of project management and engineering drawing software (MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to draw valid conclusions from data.
  • Commitment to safety policies and proactive team efforts.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and manage abstract and concrete variables.
