The Opportunity 

 

Are you passionate about engineering and looking for an opportunity to improve plant processes? We are seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to join our team. This role is integral to our operations, providing innovative engineering solutions that enhance our plant’s efficiency and productivity.  The Process Engineer will report to the Site Directorr and essential functions include but are not limited to the following.

 

  • Enhance Plant Processes: Develop and implement methods to improve production costs, yields, quality, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and Monitor: Address plant process issues and monitor equipment performance to prevent potential errors.
  • Design and Test: Conduct plant trials to test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment for engineering changes.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Determine the layout of piping, equipment, and utilities for plant process improvements.
  • Collaboration and Guidance: Collaborate with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all improvement designs comply with State and Federal regulations and check drawings for drafting and engineering errors.
  • Project Management: Prepare, submit, and manage all assigned CAPEX improvement projects through to completion.
  • Culture: Uphold the culture of MWC’s non-negotiables by utilizing Continuous Improvement processes and driving zero losses.

  

The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from a four-year college or university, with two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Teamwork: Active participation in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Task Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments to others.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Safety and Leadership: Compliance with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, reporting all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources, and providing leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

Where and how you will work  

The opportunity will be based in St. Johns, MI.  This salaried role works Monday – Friday 8a-5p with flexibility to work earlier or later based on project needs. (more details about the shift schedule will be shared by your recruiting team)
