An opportunity has arisen for a HR Business Partner at Glanbia Business Services Inc. based primarily in our office in Aurora, IL.  This is a permanent position and will report to the Head of HR for GBS, based in Ireland.


Role Summary:

The HR Business Partner will act as a strategic partner and support for the GBS business in the US and will provide technical expertise and comprehensive and integrated HR support to the GBS Leaders.  They will manage all aspects of the HR function and will positively impact employee engagement, acting as a change consultant to support our company purpose, vision and in helping to embed our values and core behaviours.


Key Elements of the Role:

  • Support a population of approx. 100 IT and Shared Services employees across multiple facilities in the US
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the IT and Shared Services business strategy, operations and culture. Anticipate emerging business needs and opportunities and work with leaders to identify HR business solutions that support their overall objectives.
  • Manage the end to end employee lifecycle from on boarding (employee orientations) to off-boarding (exit interviews) processes ensuring the employee experience is safeguarded.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers throughout recruitment life-cycle
  • Champion employee engagement and make recommendations to foster a positive work environment.  Administer all relevant employee engagement programs (GBS ‘Thanks’ Program, Communication Framework, Leadership Charter etc.). 
  • Manage the assessment, development, and implementation of management and employee training needs and programs; may conduct actual training and facilitate groups/meetings when needed, i.e. teambuilding sessions, development planning programs, etc.
  • Lead the development and implementation of all HR policies and ensure consistent application of all policies, procedures and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Coach and provide guidance to line managers on issues relating to performance management, employee relations and policy interpretation. 
  • Proactively manage all employee relations issues and conduct employee investigations and partner with the Glanbia legal team to recommend next steps/solutions as necessary, including creating and delivering progressive discipline documents.
  • Support business unit Leaders and Managers through the performance appraisal, compensation & benefits, talent calibration and succession planning processes.
  • Participate in Group-wide initiatives/projects acting as local HR representative to provide direction and input/information on user needs and best practices, identifying interdependencies which have a people impact, and influencing the decisions made.
  • Develop a HR dashboard that provides value-add data and trends to help inform future HR initiatives and strategies.
  • Lead the site engagement committee, incorporating local and international Glanbia wellness initiatives into the agenda.
  • Work as part of the broader GBS and Glanbia HR team to identify and implement business process improvements.
  • Other assigned duties as needed



  • 3rd level degree in a related discipline


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experienced HR practitioner working in a multinational organisation with HR business partnering responsibility for multiple functional areas/locations.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of US labour market conditions including reward and benefits market insight.
  • Previous experience supporting recruiting processes in a in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Knowledge of employment law and compliance standards for the US.
  • Proactive, self-directed, strategic and highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent employee relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve.
  • Confident team player – able to influence and persuade through strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide leadership and work harmoniously with co-workers and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company values
  • Strong PC skills and understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Travel Requirements: 20% local, 10-15% regional and international
