Job Summary

The CI Manager provides leadership, facilitation and education to team members to build the continuous improvement culture across operations. Implements the Operational Excellence (OPEX) road map and programs across operations, while working closely with each location’s team. This position provides customized program design, using Glanbia Performance Systems (GPS) and Lean/Six-sigma (6s) tools, as well as hands-on leadership, applications and training to location team members to provide sustainable measurable improvement across safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale (SQCDM).

 

Description

 

• Develop and implement customized OPEX programs for GPN team members

 

• Leverage GPS, Lean Manufacturing / (6S) tools to assist team members to drive sustainable improvements across the organization

  • Ensure the use of continuous improvement tools along with assisting in project monitoring and mentoring.
  • Work to identify areas of waste and identify ways to reduce/eliminate the waste.
  • Coach and educate site personnel of all levels in Lean & Continuous Improvement tools and principles.

 

• Coordinate, train, educate, lead and facilitate teams to implement sustained improvements in order to increase the productivity and reliability of the processing operations; and assist in achieving the performance targets for each facility.

 

• Diagnose and improve the productivity and reliability of the operations

  • Work with production team members to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the plant processes.

 

• Perform root cause analysis on performance opportunity areas to identify proper measurements that target sustainable improvement. Teach methodology to team members.

 

• Develop operational measures / dashboards to track & trend performance for plant floor team members.

 

• Responsible to develop the cost savings targets and implementation plans for the sites

  • Validate PI Plan, deliverables and timing. Manage PI tracking system.

 

• Ensure compliance with reporting standards to provide consistent measuring, monitoring, and improvement of performance.

 

• Develop, design, and document processes that improve safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.

 

• Education and coaching of site personnel of all levels in Lean & Continuous improvement tools and principles.

 

• Responsible for benchmarking and best practice sharing across the organization.

 

 

Decision Making/Problem Solving

  • Able to teach Problem solving methodology
  • Use DMAIC process to difine Root cause
  • Develop a sustainable permanent corrective action

 

Education & Experience

  • 4 Year Bachelor of Science Degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering perferred)
  • 3-5 Years of Manufacturing Experience
  • Demonstrate leadership in driving sustainable change
  • Extenxive Lean Manufacturing experience and skills with demonstrated application delivering sustainable improvement
  • 6S Green or Black Belt certification a plus
  • TPM implementation knowledge a plus
  • Experience in project management

 

Other Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and proven ability to effectively implement the principles in a dynamic manufacturing/processing environment.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and a strong drive for results.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with continually changing objectives/priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead teams to success with limited levels of authority.
  • Proven facilitation, influencing and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills (including presentations and classroom sessions) throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated skill in applying detailed technical analysis.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing and business concepts.
  • Demonstrated personal commitment and accountability to affect positive change within the organization and drive cultural change in a work environment.
  • Organization and planning skills with the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and work with people across all levels of the organization.
