Sanitation Manager

General Summary: The sanitation manager is responsible for ensuring that 948  Meridian Lake facility meet the highest standards of overall plant sanitation and cleanliness according to GMP standards and Food Safety. He/she will manage the relationship with temporary employee providers through the highest training standards and employee selection. He/she will implement consistent and measurable best practice approaches to address sanitation and Food Safety issues across all Plant operations. He/she will be the conduit to the professional Pest Control partners to monitor pest activity and provide proactive remedies to address spikes in insect activity.  

 

Essential Functions:

  • Train, supervise, and motivate Sanitation Leads and Sanitation Team Members.
  • Manage all facility Sanitation functions while overseeing daily workloads working with Supervisors to continuously improve Team Member productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the sanitation teams at 600 and 700 Commerce, 948 Meridian Lake, and 955 Butterfield buildings ensuring Master cleaning schedules and general sanitation activities are conducted according to expectations.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that the manufacturing environments and processes are microbiologically safe for the production of food products.
  • Provide leadership in the design and implementation of cleaning and sanitation programs.
  • Maximize overall equipment effectiveness while striving for world class sanitation standards.
  • Develop and standardize training materials for 600 and 700 Commerce sanitation personnel.
  • Attend daily production meetings to monitor issues.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent documentation for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules according to NSF/FDA requirements.
  • Maintain supply usage to be within budgeted guidelines.
  • Responsible for purchasing and maintaining all chemicals, Sanitation supplies, and first aid supplies.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting all Food Safety and quality issues to your manager.
  • Responsible for partnering with others; sharing knowledge, skills, and information within your team and across functional areas.
  • Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed or as necessary

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Food industry
  • Functional expert in food plant sanitation
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, food regulation, and sanitary design
  • Ability to effectively interact with vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies as an agent of the company
  • Pest control certification preferred

     

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related Sanitation experience is required
  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or related field preferred
  • Candidates that are registered Food Sanitarians preferred

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to waist
