Glanbia Business Services (GBS) is the Global IT and Finance SSC function which serves all of Glanbia’s global locations and operations. Our Business Solutions team support Glanbia’s global businesses in the provision of best-in-class business systems to enable and digitise their business strategies. We base our solutions on the industry leading solution suites – including SAP ECC / S4 HANA for ERP and JDA / Blue Yonder for Supply Chain Planning.


JDA / Blue Yonder Systems Footprint & Context in Glanbia:

Glanbia has implemented JDA SCPO solutions, integrating with our back-end SAP ERP system, and are on a continuous journey of process improvement and continuing global deployment. The JDA SCPO solution scope as implemented includes:

•              Demand Planning

•              Collaborate

•              Enterprise Supply Planning

•              Fulfilment

•              Sequencing

•              SAP Integration

We have recently upgraded to JDA SCOP Version 2019.1.2,(on premise), and have a strategic intent to migrate to the JDA Luminate Cloud solution in the years ahead, in order to continue to evolve the digitisation and intelligence of Glanbia’s Supply chain Planning activities.

We are continually challenged to deliver a busy projects programme, change requests, support and continuous improvement initiatives with our internal analyst team. Building end user and power user capability and digital dexterity is also an important part of our mission.

In this context we are now seeking an experienced JDA SCPO Solution Architect to join our team.


The Role:

The role will report to our Senior Lead, SCM Planning & Execution systems, and will be based out of our US offices in Aurora, Chicago IL, however remote working (US hours) is also an option for the successful candidate.  


Key deliverables of the role

  • Having built up strong knowledge of our JDA Core Model, and our business scenarios & stakeholders, the successful candidate will lead out the JDA solution design for future initiatives.
  • Understand ongoing business requirements and propose innovative and effective ways in which our current solution can be implemented and enhanced to cater for them.
  • Be proactive and outward looking (e.g.  JDA SIG community, etc.) in order to successfully position innovations within our current systems capabilities, to complement business objectives and drive business growth.
  • Act as trusted advisor to our senior SMC Planning stakeholders on solution and related process design.
  • Working with JDA and our stakeholders, define and refine the value proposition and opportunities in terms of leveraging JDA’s cloud-based solution, and co-author the business case for a cloud migration.
  • Bring a strong end-to-end process knowledge to systems design thinking, including understanding and shaping touchpoints with adjacent processes in the Commercial (e.g.  Sales Forecasting. TPM) and Finance (e.g. Financial forecasting) functions.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex systems sustain issues and ensure project designs result in a stable and fit-for-purpose solution.
  • Upskill GBS JDA team members, and mentor them on systems knowledge, proposal development, enhancement capabilities and roadmap capabilities.
  • Educate senior business stakeholders on strategic digitisation possibilities in Supply Chain Planning.
  • Participate in multiple (and sometimes concurrent) implementations and continuous improvement projects on JDA systems in a lead design role, including such activities as:
    • Definition of project scope, based on workshops with business representatives, and knowledge of Glanbia’s Global JDA SCM Planning solution.
    • Definition of JDA systems blueprint based on workshops with business representatives.
    • Co-ordinating and assisting with systems build activities including configuration, investigation of enhancement points, and integrations, and writing techo-functional programming specifications, unit testing etc.
    • Co-ordinating and assisting with systems testing cycles, and training material preparation.
    • Go-live planning and execution and providing hyper-care post-live support.
  • Design, develop and deliver enhancements in relation to specified mini-projects and change requests in the JDA solution area.
  • Develop and enhance JDA Power User capabilities, through the design and delivery of targeted Webinars and Process / Day-in-the Life reviews.


Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 10 year’s experience in the implementation and configuration of JDA SCPO supply chain planning platform, in the context of a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Track record on leading JDA SCOP implementation teams, and JDA Solution architecture design ( in line with the role deliverables specified above) in a business-facing environment.
  • Experience of working on implementation projects and of working with third party systems integrators and business stakeholders.
  • Strong Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning - from demand forecasting through supply replenishment.
  • Understanding of supply planning concepts – consumption, safety stock, production rates/constraints etc... (APICS certification preferred).
  • Demonstrable complex problem solving skills and attention to detail.
