Reporting to the Head of Operation and Supply Chain Excellence this role will be responsible for defining, reviewing and updating continuous improvement methodology to be used by the business. The role will drive a change in behaviours and advocate a culture of excellence, monitor compliance with Glanbia Lean methodology, play a leading role in developing GPS (Glanbia Performance system) to have an external accredited status. The role is also responsible for defining & executing on programmes of excellence across the Glanbia Business deliver optimised performance through “Cost Out &/or Value In”

This is a transformational role as part of the Operations and supply Chain Excellence Team to support the GI Business.  You will develop the GI Business continuous improvement systems and advance the excellence culture across all functions & locations.

You will need to have 8 – 12 Years Professional experience in a progressive manufacturing environment with a proven track record of leading change and performance management within a lean manufacturing production system (Shingo or associated award recognition a plus).

This role is both hands-on doing, coaching, mentoring but also having the ability to create and deploy a strategic roadmap to lead Glanbia Ireland to world Class business excellence.



Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Excellence function as well as the broader Glanbia Ireland (GI) organisation to create a culture of improvement and team based problem solving that delivers improved performance for the business.
  • Educate and coach the organisation on the culture of continuous improvement and necessary behavioural development including a culture of continually challenging the status quo, autonomous team working, sharing of best practice and strong leadership structures.
  • Lead the prioritization process, in collaboration with local teams, of the overall improvement project portfolio in line with the strategic direction of the business.
  • Develop and refine GPS (continuous improvement) methodology, Body of Knowledge, to be used by the business
  • Create governance framework that will facilitate localised setting of KPIs and daily review metrics across the business.
  • Lead the adoption of GPS methodology, across Operations, supply chain and the broader GI business.
  • Collaborate with Analytics team to establish the appropriate measurement infrastructure to drive excellence within the business.
  • Engage with Excellence functions within other leading organisations to bring best practice to the GI Excellence function.
  • Work with functional heads to deliver a GPS strategy that achieves formal accredited status for GPS as a continuous learning framework.
  • Monitor and support execution of improvement projects by function within GI, monitor meeting the optimization targets.

Key Requirements:

  • Third level qualification or significant relevant experience in a relevant field related to processing, Six sigma, Lean management or other associated discipline.
  • Development and execution of continuous improvement programmes
  • Working within a Shingo accredited environment advantageous.
  • Demonstrate previous Change Management, Process improvement & business transformation experience
  • Highly developed decision making & problem solving skills using LSS
  • Excellent communications skills - explaining complex topics simply
  • Influence others to embrace change & adopt excellent processes & practices
  • Results Focused - driving initiatives to achieve business goals
  • Enjoy developing People - Proven ability to coach & train; deliver messages, lead workshops, develop people in training / coaching environment.
