Job Summary

Responsible for the commercialization and development of new products within the Bioactives portfolio, including Dairy and Non Dairy Bioactives. This includes managing new product development activities (Project management), working cross functionally, and supporting product launches.


This person would help streamline processes needed to bring new materials, as well as product variants and customer projects, to market. Alignment to the goals of the greater bioactives group to prioritize projects is key. Participate in the New Pipeline Innovation (NPI)/ Technologies process by helping launch new bioactives via the ROR/Stage-Gate process.


Responsible for streamlining logistics and inventory position of existing bioactives depending on customer forecasts and demand-supply situation.  


Essential Functions

  • Concept to Market commercialization of new products, as determined by Bioactives PSM Team
      1. Coordinate development of internal and external documentation, including specifications, quality statements, and other documentation
      2. Work closely with international PSM team to provide required documentation and information needed to register new products in developing markets
      3. Perform all master data/SAP setup functions including material setup, bill of material setup, finance (requiring coordination with Finance team), and quality.
      4. Coordinate with logistics team on warehouse and vendor setup
      5. Facilitate work between operations, tech services, and R&D by setting up bench top and scale up trials. Develop success criteria and project plans
      6. Communicate project plans, schedule, and budget with all relevant departments including PSM, quality, R&D, procurement, operations, and technical services
      7. Where required, facilitate marketing requirements between PSM, Technology Manager, R&D and Marketing
      8. Monitor first 3-5 lots of production to finalize specification, close out NPD process, and transition to production planning and PSM.
    1. Responsible for keeping the project pipeline up to date and communicating to the team, including status updates.
    2. Maintain a tracking and communication system for NPD
    3. Maintain CRM for all Bioactives NPD projects (Collaboration) and coordinates work with R&D
    4. Identifies 2-3 process improvement projects each year and works to completion. These projects will help the bioactives PSM team improve overall performance to customer expectations, improve the P&L, and assist in business growth.

  • Act as liaison for internal customers (sales, finance, customer service, purchasing, marketing, operations, quality) for day-to-day product activities and questions.

  • Bachelor degree (BS) required. Degree in Food Science/Food Technology a plus.
  • Basic technical and business skills for management and commercialization of products in the food and nutrition industry.
  • International markets experience
  • Basic understanding of inventory management, cost analysis and pricing
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the food and nutrition industry.
  • Ability to write routine reports and updates
  • Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost professionalism.
  • Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
