Job Summary

At Glanbia Nutritionals (the B2B Ingredients division of Glanbia Plc) the Commercial Strategy and Sales Operations analyst will play a key support role in delivering sustainable and profitable growth for the organization through both the development of the Commercial strategy and through the delivery of best in class processes, systems and analytics to allow the effective execution of that strategy.


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for both regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements of the Commercial function including
  • Support in the implementation of formalized and structured account planning and pipeline management processes across the sales organization.
  • Play a role in the systemization, automation, process enhancement and continuous improvement agenda of the Commercial function. In particular play a leading role in the customer master data governance process.
  • Support the development of best in class analytics and reporting for the Commercial and other functions that incorporate financial & non-financial metrics and historic & forward-looking metrics to provide critical insights on our commercial performance as well as on our customers and markets.
  • Liaise with the Product & Innovation and other functions across a wide range of activities including go-to-market strategy development, prioritization of product launches and specific growth opportunities.
  • Play a role in ongoing project based activity within the commercial and wider GN organization. These will typically relate to systems, processes and optimization of data and information to deliver enhanced performance.

Additional Functions

  • University Degree, preferably in a business, strategy or analytical field
  • MBA Preferred



  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accountancy or other analytical discipline
  • Significant experience and highly competent with both MS Excel and Powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of and experience of food ingredients industry preferred
  • Experience with and solid understanding of ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP



  • Must be a strategic thinker, who is highly analytical, and has strong commercial acumen with good problem solving skills and capable of assessing market/business opportunities over near and long-term planning horizons
  • Passionate about the business, will be a strong external ambassador/advocate for the business and will be highly collaborative with the ability to work successfully across teams, regions and functions
  • Individual must possess strong commercial awareness across the entire value chain
  • Highly detailed with a systematic approach, sense of responsibility and strong understanding of and relentless customer focus
  • Analytical with superior problem solving skills over near and long-term planning horizons
  • Strong business understanding and orientation and effectively handles multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities
  • Must be results focused and highly energetic to drive the defined team and organizational goals
  • Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and with all levels in the organization
  • High level understanding of accounting including an ability to read and interpret a P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statement
  • Strong ability to translate data and information into clear messages and actionable insights
  • Ability and desire to question the status quo
  • Possesses a passion for learning new skills
