Senior SAP Project Manager, North America
At Glanbia Business Services, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Senior SAP Project Manager to join our team. This role can be hired on a permanent basis or as an external consultant.
Location
Our primary office locations are in Chicago / Aurora / Twin Falls with hybrid working arrangements in place through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance. Within that this role requires travel bi-weekly to Connecticut for a major project during July 2023 to March 2024.
Key elements of the role
- Manage the set-up and delivery of a number of projects for Glanbia business units.
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects to plan and within budget, while ensuring that the deliverables meet the underlying business case.
- Lead and manage project teams from Initiation through Go-live and transition to BAU. Particular focus on establishing appropriate governance structures at the outset of the project.
- Early identification of the key performance measures to manage the project and instil a rigorous set of interim checkpoints to ensure successful project outcomes
- Create and manage project plans ensuring appropriate feedback and buy-in from all functional groups.
- Proactively assess project issues and facilitate mitigation plan to ensure project success.
- Present status updates and report on potential issues and mitigation plans to steering group.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
Skills & Experience
- At least 7 years’ experience of successfully managing complex, business-facing projects, both IT and non-IT, involving significant business change & including management of at least four full-lifecycle projects in Manufacturing or Consumer Products industry
- SAP Project Management experience essential
- Able to act as business change manager as well as project manager.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience of best-practice project management methods. PMP certification an advantage.
- Experienced in managing projects in a matrix organisational structure
- Experience of dealing with and managing third-party consultants in a project implementation.
- Strong people management skills.
- Strong analysis, problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Experienced in managing project budgetary requirements and constraints
- Experience in addressing key business issues with IT solutions.
- Commercially focused.
