We are looking for a passionate and experienced D&I leader with a proven track record in supporting global organisations with their D&I journey.  This is a newly created role which provides you with the opportunity to shape and grow the foundation and to advance an inclusive culture across the business.

 

Overview

In this role you will partner with our global Business units teams to create, implement and embed effective Group wide D&I strategies and initiatives which will underpin the delivery of our business and people strategy and enable the creation of a truly inclusive and high performance culture.  

 

You will play a key role in enabling the shifts required in mindsets, skillsets, cultural norms and workforce demographics to deliver on our D&I vision.  You will also support our commercial and brand teams and CSR efforts to ensure diversity and inclusion are embedded in our practices and communications.

The role reports to the Group HR & Corporate Affairs Director, and will work closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts.

 

Key Elements of the Role

  • Act as an advisor, subject matter expert and catalyst to senior leadership to grow and enhance an inclusive culture. Meets the business where it is at but leads it through a growth journey to execute and embellish on the organization’s D&I strategy.  Effectively communicate and influence all relevant parties, up to and including Board level, designing and delivering engaging presentations, business reports and training as required.
  • Act as an expert advisor across the business to ensure that D&I is embedded across all aspects of the employee lifecycle to enable the attraction, development and retention of diverse talent reflective of the geographies where we are represented.
  • Using external benchmarking and research to support the establishment of key metrics and targets while establishing a global governance and reporting framework to create positive impact.
  • Oversee and co-ordinate group-wide activity to ensure D&I efforts are cohesive, effective and delivers a consistent employee experience in all parts of the business.
  • Partner with the global business unit teams to design and deliver effective and pragmatic initiatives and frameworks that align with the Group wide strategic intent and principles whilst recognising different business, cultural and geographical needs.
  • Bring latest thinking and best practices, sharing learning with colleagues and ensuring the relevance and currency of activities and priorities at all times.
  • Source and deliver a training and development platform from foundational to advanced levels for all employees.
  • Lead out on authentic and impactful D&I communications and employee engagement, partnering with Group and business unit Communications. Leads to optimise synergies and ensure a joined up narrative and approach. Foster a culture of listening and education around inclusion across the whole business, in order to raise awareness across our organisation and motivate employees to drive change.
  • Capture and analyses quantitative and qualitative data to track and measure progress, generate insight to inform business decision making and enable effective reporting to meet legal or regulatory requirements. Oversee the review of current practices and policies, to ensure they are enablers of our diversity and inclusion goals.
  • Oversee the creation of and be an advisor to employee led networks, harnessing energy, interest, two way dialogue and advocacy to drive understanding, action and progress.
  • Partner with external affairs and PR teams to build external visibility around our D&I objectives and progress to ensure transparency and accountability.  Represent Glanbia with external parties and networks and leverage opportunities for external partnerships to support achievement of our objectives.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of a third level qualification in a relevant area, or equivalent experience, with recent experience in a similar senior role within a multinational company.  Minimum 10 years’ experience in Human Resources with strong focus and track record of success leading Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Experienced at developing and executing progressive and impactful D&I strategies and initiatives across a global organisation.
  • Proven experience in initiating and implementing a wide range of effective pragmatic, innovative D&I strategies and solutions in a matrixed, global organisation.
  • Understands global trends and changes particular to D&I that drive business results. Proven expertise in gaining ‘bottom up’ employee active engagement and involvement in working groups and forums.
  • Experienced in facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies and networks is highly desirable as we seek to grow our expertise and networks in this area.

  • Resilient, agile and solutions focused, able to navigate ambiguity, challenges and solve problems that arise in an effective and respectful way.
