Maintenance Project Tech (Paint & Tile)

Job Summary

Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the painting within SWC. This is included but not limited to:
    • Removing old paint
    • Prepping area for paint
    • Painting areas including
      • Main building walls
      • Office areas
      • Production walls
      • Blue hallway floor and walls,
      • Outside building if necessary
      • Equipment which includes pump motors/boilers/ other miscellaneous equipment
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining stock of paint and paint tools
  • Completing work orders as assigned by Projects Team Lead
  • Responsible for all Tile work within SWC. Includes
    • Removing old/damaged tile
    • Sanitizing area if necessary
    • Prepping area for new tile
    • Setting tile
    • Grouting tile
    • Maintaining stock of tile and tile equipment
  • Assisting maintenance/projects team in other areas as directed by Projects Team Lead.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health  Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Understanding of TPM and similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
