Job Summary

Oversees and manages all aspects of the blow molding organization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

  • Provide general leadership to blow-molding department
  • Supervise and direct blow-molding personnel with all duties
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance tasks specifically for blow molding and corresponding utility systems; own the blow-molding preventative maintenance plan. Execute preventative maintenance according to priorities:  Safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Responsible to work with contractors as needed and validate work
  • Provide performance coaching to the blow-molding department
  • Develop and adhere to machine KPI’s and quality requirements
  • Maintain coordination of production planning with blow-molding department
  • Work with technical services to on-board new preform resins and bottle SKU’s
  • Responsible for work order disbursement and completion of tasks
  • Responsible for creating, modifying, and deleting work orders in the SAP system
  • Coordinate with vendors about new equipment and oversee the installation processes to make sure everything meets Glanbia’s standards and specifications
  • Communicate with corporate engineering/production/maintenance to resolve engineering and production or maintenance issues in the plant; specifically for capital upgrades as needed.
  • Provide on call facility support and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide timely planning of general work orders.
  • Develop a master plan, shutdown plan, and a schedule for each.
  • Compile production loss reporting due to equipment failure
  • Optimize predictive maintenance practices (infrared, vibration and lubrication)
  • Provide a yearly equipment condition analysis and asset inventory
  • Own electrical components in the plant (VFD’s, instrumentation, wiring, motors, panels, PLC’s, etc.). Coordinate as needed with supporting departments to address needs.
  • Facilitate “break down analysis” for each equipment failure based on a priority impacting the production schedule; troubleshoot electrical issues in the field.
  • Maintain equipment history and equipment documents in a useable library.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:

  • Requires a four (4) year technical degree (process, mechanical, electrical, etc. engineering) 

Experience Required:

  • 2-3 years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of National Electric Code, Ladder Logic, ISA Symbols, technical drawings, HMI, PLC components, AutoCAD, Wonderware, AB, Ethernet, and Device Net is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,)

Language, Computer &   Numeracy:

  • Clear command of the English language both verbal and in writing.
  • Proficient personal computer skills (MS office applications – Word, Office, Excel)

  • Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
