The Brand Manager, ABB / Isopure is responsible for growing the ABB and Isopure brands by managing the brands image and positioning, marketing strategy, current product portfolio, new product development and marketing activations (planning, development, execution and analysis).

 

Summary:

The Brand Manager is responsible for growing the ABB and Isopure brands by managing the brands image and positioning, marketing strategy, current product portfolio, new product development and marketing activations (planning, development, execution and analysis). An exciting opportunity to own and revamp the ABB brand with primary responsibilities on developing the new brand positioning and leading cross-functional team members to launch NPD through the commercialization process. Responsibilities also include commercializing exciting new ready-to-drink innovation from Isopure.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the brand positioning development for the ABB brand (consumer targets, deep insight, brand DNA, benefit mix, brand role, brand personality)
  • Manage and successfully drive the ABB NPD commercialization process by leading the cross-functional team to achieve business case expectations and ship dates. Responsibilities also include exciting new Isopure Ready-to-Drink innovation.
    • Scope the NPD idea and build the business case (NPD concept, strategic rationale, product positioning, channel strategy, competition landscape, market and consumer trends, consumer insights, size of prize, market potential, shelf pricing, regulatory hurdles, technical feasibility, risks, project financials, estimated launch timing, winning activation strategy)
    • Lead packaging design and label development with the cross-functional team
    • Lead the cross-functional team, including the project manager, through the commercialization project to launch excellent innovation
    • Collaborate with customer marketing and sales operations to develop sensational product customer sell decks
    • Lead post launch reviews with the team to assess launch success and learnings to optimize future NPD
  • Lead the ABB 360 consumer engagement strategy & execution, including the strategic and creative development across campaigns, NPD support, always-on, and grassroots activation
    • Lead best in class activation planning, creative, and execution with creative and agency partners for print, digital, social, in-store, event/sponsorships and other promotional tactics
    • Partner with the sales and marketing teams to devise and support the execution of customer plans for key accounts
  • Overall ownership & accountability for the ABB marketing budget, ensuring spends are optimized and funds are allocated for growth
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional partners: sales, customer marketing, consumer insights & analytics, finance, operations, R&D, legal, regulatory, creative and external agencies
  • Perform creative writing, advertising copy and technical writing for all forms of media
  • Work with Creative Editor with all copy writing materials supplied by freelance writers and internal writers to ensure an authentic, consistent and accurate ABB ‘voice’
  • Closely monitor, track and report on ABB brand and product portfolio business activity (shipments, consumption, business case expectations, by customer, ect.)
  • Closely monitor, track and report on market, consumer, category and competitive trends and marketing activity (i.e. social media tactics, advertising creative/copy) with the ability to assess key marketing opportunities and threats
  • Develop, and provide critical proactive input on, departmental direction, project budgets, action items, deadlines for deliverables, product positioning in the market place and other marketing related matters
  • Attendance at grass roots Marketing events and trade shows to act as a brand ambassador and disseminate product information
  • Lead in the development and training of marketing personnel
  • Support the Brand Lead with step-out projects, as assigned                

Education/Experience:

 

  • 5+ years marketing experience in CGP/retail/consumer focused industries
  • MBA preferred
  • Brand, consumer, and trade marketing (commercialization) experience from CPG, retail environments

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills in managing/influencing teams and implementing key business initiatives
  • Ability to comprehensively understand and convert consumer, category, competitor, and channel/customer insights into brand strategy/plans
  • Successful track record of identifying & developing new ways to grow brands via innovation in product, packaging, and communications
  • Effectively applies knowledge of business drivers to deliver financial objectives via P&L management, budget development and tracking, and demand/financial forecasting
  • Knowledge of advertising process and evaluation as well as new product launches
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc
  • Ability to navigate from the strategic level to the analytical/tactical level fluidly
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial mind-set, highly motivated and ambitious
  • Strong work ethic (willingness to roll up sleeves), multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Passion for health, fitness and sports nutrition industry
