Channel Marketing Manager

The Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for contributing to the development and execution of brand strategies and marketing plans that will drive and achieve the business objectives of GPN brands within the Club Channel. Key areas of responsibility include project management and commercialization of new product launches, development and execution of brand-building and customer-specific activation tactics, consumption reporting and analysis, financial analysis, packaging & POS development, and budget management. 


Essential Functions:

  • Manage cross-functional teams via execution of strong project management for new product launches. Execute innovation pipeline projects and ensure key project milestones are successfully met on time.
  • Lead and/or support the development and execution of account-specific tactical plans, including promotional plans, demo coordination, and both brand-building and customer-specific marketing activation, such as digital programming and social media support.
  • Support P&L development with Finance and work with Sales and Brand counterparts to effectively set product offering and pricing architecture that strategically aligns across brand, business, and customer objectives.
  • Lead exploration of customer/channel-specific new product development, partnering with brand and cross-functional counterparts to develop strategic rationale, product positioning, size of prize, and project financials.
  • Execute portfolio maintenance activities including product renovation tasks as needed (i.e. label refresh or other packaging/artwork changes, reformulations, etc.).
  • Partner with creative agency and in-house creative team to execute key activation initiatives including digital, social media, print, and other promotional or activation tactics.
  • Closely monitor and report on channel-related or customer-specific consumption data, category trends, and competitive product launches and marketing activity with the ability to assess key NPD and marketing opportunities as well as threats.
  • Monitor sales, margin, and volume across key products and customers. Develop and implement action plans to address any unexpected issues or weak areas.
  • Candidate should be able to “get into” or already have an existing passion for the sports nutrition/fitness/wellness category.
  • Perform day-to-day business management activities and execute other projects or activities as requested.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong leadership and project management skills in managing/influencing cross-functional teams, consensus building, and implementing key business initiatives.
  • Results-oriented with high level of attention to detail, follow-thru on execution, and initiative and assertiveness to get the job done.
  • Ability to navigate from the strategic level to the analytical/tactical level fluidly within a lean consumer marketing organization.
  • Ability to comprehensively understand and convert consumer, category, competitor, and channel/customer insights actionable plans that align with both brand and customer/channel-specific strategy.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.



  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years of previous marketing, project management, and/or consulting experience
