New Product Introduction Coordinator

General Summary: This is a cross-functional position, with persistent contributions to the overall bottom-line and goals of management for raw material approvals within the Procurement Department.  A key contributor and liaison among Category Specialists, R&D, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, Legal, and Regulatory to ensure timely execution of new product launches. Communicate project status on raw material approvals while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Source, qualify and set-up new raw materials for new products and second sourcing opportunities for branded, contract and international R&D teams.
  • Request and collect all documentation from suppliers for material and facility approval packets, including co-manufacturing ingredients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with all suppliers and communicate quality requirements.
  • Constant interaction and consultation with appropriate Category Specialist for guidance on Preferred Suppliers, navigate lowest total cost, suggest cost reduction opportunities, review Bill of Material’s and make recommendations to reduce raw material supply risks and create an ease of transition from the product development team to manufacturing team.
  • Initiate non-disclosure agreements and licensing agreements.
  • Prepare weekly status update reports.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings involving raw material approval status, facility approvals, form updates, samples, and process improvement.
  • Provide feedback or Find a Better Way to enhance current processes that will offer consistent results.
  • Attend trade shows, supplier meetings, webinars and seminars.
  • Partners with Marketing, R&D, and Quality for all GPN brands to understand product functionality, timing and requirements for projects.
  • Support innovation platform through PQRS, by proactively sourcing and approving raw materials for innovation projects.
  • Work directly with Suppliers to ratify technical specifications alongside R&D and Quality.

 

 

Experience, Skills, Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university, preferably in communications, business administration or supply chain.
  • Familiarity with supplement manufacturing, suppliers and ingredients as a whole is preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills required, including proficiency with Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • SAP experience is preferred but not required.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Able to work in a results-based and fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments.
  • Strong willingness to learn.
  • Ability to find a better a way and develop new processes.
