The Opportunity 

 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead our Co-Manufacturing Supplier Quality team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and safety of our contract-manufactured products, which include protein bars, protein-based snacks, dry blended products, RTD beverages, dietary supplements, and capsules/tablets. This role reports to the Director Global Supplier Quality and duties include but are not limited to the following;

 

  • Team Leadership: Develop and lead a dynamic team of managers and specialists, ensuring performance and development goals are met.
  • Quality Assurance: Act as the primary resource for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement in co-manufacturing quality.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure companywide food safety and quality standards are met through collaboration and relationship-building with internal partners.
  • Partnership Development: Work directly with contract manufacturing partners to foster strong business-to-business relationships.
  • Performance Monitoring: Maintain and improve performance monitoring systems, including KPIs such as first-time quality and complaints per million.
  • Trend Analysis: Identify and report on performance trends to executive leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in co-manufacturing management and product specifications.
  • Consumer Feedback: Monitor consumer complaints to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • CAPA Investigations: Lead investigations into key vendor non-conformances and deviations, working with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Audit and Compliance: Maintain audit and scorecard systems, ensuring accuracy in product specifications and compliance with regulatory standards.

 

  The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) or advanced certification in related fields.
  • Minimum of 10+ years in QA systems implementation and management, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within a medium-sized food manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices and the Code of Federal Regulations for human food and dietary supplements.
  • Strong background in food safety plans, HACCP, FSQ programs, and GFSI standards.
  • Proven track record in business performance improvement and quality systems design.
  • Excellent people management and influencing skills.
  • Strong understanding of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Proficient in quality control applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments and maintain GMPs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
