The opportunity where you will make an impact:

The role of Key Account Manager is to execute the current Commercial Strategy for the Convenience, Discounter & Forecourt Channel across Ireland whilst shaping the future strategy to harness the growth of the channel.  This is a compelling opportunity for a Sales professional to continue to grow their career in an exciting category, with significant scope for future growth. With the support of the Channel Head, this role is tasked with leading the coordination and collaboration across multiple functional groups (sales, marketing, and finance & supply chain) to ensure that objectives and goals of the channel are met.


  • Manage the Head Office Key Accounts in some of our Convenience, Discounter & Forecourt Customer.
  • Manage the customer cost files in conjunction with our Customer Service and Finance team.
  • Manage the Promotional plan and Investment plan for our Convenience, Discounter & Forecourt Customer.
  • Identify growth opportunities with our customer base in the above channels.
  • Work with Field sales team and Field sales team Manager to execute Head office plans in store.
  • Measure Field sales team and Field sales Manager on agreed KPI’s for the year.
  • Achievement of sales, profit and distribution targets in line with KPI’s
  • Develop customer relationships and a platform to support brand activity
  • Excellent execution of brand activity within accounts and engagement with key sponsorships
  • Management and best in class placement of company assets including POS,FSDU’s and Premia through our field sales team

What you will bring to GPN:

  • A 3rd level qualification in Marketing, Business Studies, Food Business/Science or related discipline
  • A minimum of 2/3 year’s sales experience gained in a retail environment working with FMCG/consumer goods
  • A strong team player
  • Strong career ambition and desire to go the extra mile
  • A commercial understanding always focused on return on investment
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills with a tactical approach to account management and development
  • Good common sense and initiative
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and customer care focus
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Flexible around working hours due to nature of role
  • FMCG experience in combination with a passion for all things sports, training and nutrition related will be highly regarded
