Job Summary

At Glanbia Nutritionals, the B2B Ingredients division of Glanbia Plc, the Strategic Insights & Analytics Manager will be responsible for all insights and analytics in EMEA and Asia Pacific. The Insights & Analytics Manager will play a critical role in helping GN develop a robust lens on consumers so that we can be more effective in delivering new ideas to our customers in those two key regions. The ideal candidate is an inquisitive thinker with a natural passion for understanding the underlying factors driving observable consumer and referral trends and occurrences.  They will generate data-driven insight and be responsible for providing actionable analysis of internal and external data sources to our product and commercial teams.  They will help the product team identify and drive strategy, innovation and growth opportunities, and they will help the commercial team by providing expertise and insight to help us be more effective with our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of technical skill in areas such as mining and manipulating large databases, as well as a strong working command of reporting tools such as Excel and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate will be proactive, intellectually curious, have a knack for numbers and the communication skills necessary to share actionable insights with our numerous teams.

 

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate, conduct and lead insights presentations at high priority customers in the two regions.
  • Translate research into actionable insights, packaging research findings and recommendations for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all deliverables are actionable, grounded in deep player knowledge and psychology, and guided by a broader understanding of business context.
  • Synthesizing and analyzing data collected from surveys, usability testing and other research studies; translating research insights into actionable recommendations and direction.
  • Uncover meaningful insights from secondary research sources, including syndicated data.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to support new product launches. Ensure key learning plan milestones are successfully met on time.
  • Closely monitor and report on category and consumer trends with the ability to assess key marketing opportunities and threats.
  • Demonstrate a natural passion for the sports nutrition/ fitness/ wellness category.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Market Research or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
     

Experience

  • 10-12 years’ experience in strategic/consumer insights/ research/ analytics.
  • Experience in executing insight initiatives including creating content independently, with the ability to translate qualitative and quantitative findings into compelling presentations.
  • Ability to comprehensively understand and convert consumer, category, competitor, and channel/customer insights into actionable plans and recommendations.
  • Market research and analysis experience – including familiarity with and demonstrated ability to analyze data from key external sources (e.g. IRI, Nielsen, Spins, Innova, Euromonitor, others).
  • Ability to distill raw data into actionable insights, and create clear, concise and actionable reports.
  • Proven ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Experience servicing multiple teams, and adapting insights for each audience.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, including the executive level.
  • Demonstrated strong data and analytical skills, such as analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Experience identifying operational issues, and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience in leading and project managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders within an organization.
  • Familiarity with customer intelligence software.
  • History of solving problems using fact-based rationale.
  • Prior experience with food/beverages/supplements/ingredient industry and/or knowledge of food science, food industry, competitive landscape and key trends.
  • Exposure to forecasting a plus.

Typical Environmental Conditions

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment and light traffic).
     

Travel Requirements

    • Moderate travel (less than 25%) by land and/or air.
