Position Title:  Logistics Distribution Manager (Europe)

Reporting to: Head of Supply Chain, EMEA

Department / Function/Business Unit: Performance Nutrition EMEA


Job Purpose:  

Glanbia Performance Nutrition is one of the World’s leading sports and specialist Nutrition Companies developing and manufacturing a range of nutritional bars, beverages and ready to mix drinks.  Glanbia Performance Nutrition EMEA is now seeking to recruit a Logistics Distribution Manager to oversee transportation activities across our European Logistics network.  


Principal Accountabilities (not definitive)

  • Management of distribution activity for materials & finished goods inventory (EMEA)
  • Daily interaction with 3PL’s for the scheduling of inbound / outbound deliveries (EU / Non EU)
  • Main point of contact for our internal Customer Service and Commercial Teams
  • Maintain transportation budget, validation of invoices against rate cards and oversee the scheduling of payments to service providers
  • Focus on cost out through load optimisation including double stacking and order consolidation
  • Creation and maintenance of SOP’s & KPI’s with an emphasis on on-time delivery performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to vendors, procedures and routes
  • Coordination of new customer integrations

Key Challenges

  • Ability to maintain excellent service levels across all markets.
  • Handle multiple priorities on a day to day basis including problem solving.
  • Maintain 3PL spend within budget without compromising service.
  • A clear understanding of customer needs and requirements


Success Measures

  • On time delivery at minimum 97%
  • On-going cost reduction programme (transport)
  • Development of excellent working relationships with key service providers
  • 100% roll out SOP’s and order tracking.
  • Service KPI’s with all Logistics Vendors


Skills, Know How and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of European/International logistics gained within a FMCG Food manufacture environment, or equivalent.
  • Relevant qualification in supply chain management / logistics, is preferable
  • Ability to analyse processes and procedures and implement improvements
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Expert knowledge of SAP functionality.
  • Very strong Excel skills
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management skills.
  • Results orientated and creative problem solver.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
