Finance Systems Specialist- Fixed Term Contract

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Systems Specialist within the Glanbia Co-Op Team. This is a 12 month contract position reporting to the Co-Op Operations Manager and is based in Dungarvan / Kilkenny.

Role Summary

The Co-Op is currently engaged in a number of key projects designed to enhance and develop its current key information system platforms. The Finance Systems Specialist will play a key role in working with system developers and key system users to ensure these projects are developed in a secure and timely fashion.

 

Key Elements of the Role 

  • Participate in project teams to deliver key upgrades to Co-Op systems, including upgrades to GAP operating system and the replacement of existing Discoverer reporting tool.
  • Work with the project team members to develop a comprehensive test plan to be undertaken as part of the relevant system replacements and upgrades.
  • Executes test plans and test scripts to ensure system changes are aligned with business requirements in partnership with relevant system developers and key system users.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and system performance for continuous improvement
  • Participate in the project team to ensure the Co-Op is fully compliant with GDPR requirements.
  • Other adhoc project work as directed by the Co-Op Operations Manager.

 

Qualifications

  • 3rd level qualification in Finance, Business or Information Technology

 

Skills & Experience and Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an accounting, system development or system maintenance role.
  • Experience in working in cross functional teams delivering IT system projects within demanding time lines.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate to stakeholders across various levels and functions across the Group.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Office Word skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, ability to ensure tasks are finalised to strict deadlines.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative environment where the focus is on continuous improvement and the challenge to make it better.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Co-Op share registration systems and processes would be desirable.
  • Qualified/ part qualified accountant with relevant Finance experience would be an advantage.
