Job Summary

Responsible for managing the electrical department. Manage the electrical backlog and work with the planning department to ensure that all PM and repair work is completed in a timely manner. Work with Engineering to ensure that all electrical projects meet Glanbia standards and are executed properly.  Establish and maintain an Electrical Training Program and ensure that Glanbia is OSHA Compliant.    


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the management and implementation of the electrical SAP Plan.
  • Utilize GPS processes, driving zero losses, and upholds the culture of Glanbia non-negotiables.
  • Active Participation and/or ownership of Plant Pillars.
  • On a biannual basis, perform the PDP process and provide feedback periodically on performance, including disciplinary and attendance occurrences with direct reports. 
  • Monitor and effectively manage the activities of the electrical team.
  • Test and troubleshoot Power Distribution Systems.
  • Maintain, Install and troubleshoot all PLC Processors and associated control on site.
  • PLC Programming and HMI Development as needed.
  • Maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Set up, program and troubleshoot Drives and Soft Starts. 
  • Utilize Testing Equipment for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.  
  • Responsible for electrical work order disbursement while working closely with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Responsible for creating, modifying, and deleting electrical work orders.
  • Coordinate with vendors in overseeing installation of new equipment.
  • Communicate with corporate engineering, maintenance, and production.
  • Oversee electrical Preventative Maintenance.

  • Working Knowledge of dairy processing equipment and plant facilities. 
  • Physical ability to perform assigned jobs.
  • Ability to supervise and communicate effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, willing to accept responsibility, and ability to make good business decisions. 
  • Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals.
  • Requires skills in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.
  • Works well under pressure and adhere to company and regulatory requirements. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment.
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance and punctuality. 
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed.
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals.
  • Must be able to work weekend, and overtime as required.
  • Idaho State Electrical Journeyman.
