Essential Functions

  • Efficiently operate all whey processing equipment (Freeze Dryer, Hydroflaker, Packaging Equipment, & Sterile filter if required)
  • Collect and deliver all required samples to the laboratory
  • Monitor operation of equipment and make adjustments to produce top quality products
  • Trouble shoots equipment to improve and maintain operating efficiencies
  • Operate and maintain all CIP systems
  • Keep work area clean and uncluttered
  • Assist with training people or other operators
  • Read through Standard Operating Procedures and help update them when possible
  • Take readings and fill out equipment log sheets
  • Clean the interior & exterior of the plant (master sanitation)
  • Monitor & Report all product spills, safety hazards, and equipment problems
  • Take an active role in team participation i.e. HACCP, Food Safety etc
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Regular and timely attendance required



  • Computer experience helpful
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Cannot have any lifting restrictions
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision
  • Must be able to work in cold (Temperatures as low as negative 35 degrees) and dusty conditions and go up & down stairs
  • Must be accurate in taking samples & performing tests
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
