Financial Accountant – Central A&R

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified financial accountant to join a dynamic team within Glanbia Ireland. This role will report to the Central Accounting and Reporting Manager and will focus on Balance Sheet control, planning and reporting. The successful candidate will work within a busy team to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of the reported financial information.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting of monthly actual and plan data across the Ingredients business division.
  • Consolidation of monthly actual & plan P&Ls, Balance Sheets, Cash Flows and further supplementary data for the Ingredients business division via the group consolidation platform.
  • Variance Analysis (actual vs. plan) of working capital and provision of commercial explanations and recommendations as applicable.
  • Financial accounting across a range of company codes, including foreign exchange, hedging, tax, provisions, investments, reserves and pension.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Risk assessment and monitoring of balance sheet control environment.
  • Development of forecast/budget Balance Sheet and Cash Flows for a number of company codes within the Glanbia Ingredients business division, based on identifiable assumptions and ensuring accurate funding, working capital and debt levels are projected.
  • Advocate for adherence to the Group Policy manual and procedures and keep informed of updates to ensure ongoing compliance of ledgers under their control.
  • Update of finance master data for their respective company codes as and when required.
  • Set standards for monitoring the accounting and control for areas of the business and manage rollout.
  • Liaise with both internal and external auditors as required.
  • Input into schedules required for statutory reporting and tax compliance.
  • Support and drive optimal change arising from other ad hoc projects as and when they arise that impact on the Ingredients balance sheet area.
  • Work with Accounting & Reporting peers to drive process improvement, reporting capability development, finance automation and assigned projects / objectives.
  • Collaboration with and support of team members in delivery of tasks. Work with wider A&R team, wider Finance team, Shared Services, Group Finance and Glanbia Business Services.
  • Other ad hoc duties/responsibilities as they arise.

 

Key competencies:

  • Experience in a large multinational company environment would be an advantage
  • Process driven individual with ability to identify and implement streamlining opportunities in a continuous improvement environment

  • Collaboration skills 

 

Key Requirements:

  • Performance & results driven approach
  • Degree qualified with professional accounting qualification – a minimum of 5 years PQE required
  • Experience of ERP systems, Data Warehousing platforms and report design would be an advantage
  • High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel would be an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent reporting & presentation skills
