This role reports to the Group Financial Control & Company Secretary. This role is responsible for ensuring involvement of finance in the development and support of strategic direction of GI and providing insight into the business environment and the wider financial context to help identify developments that will have impact on the business. This role requires a deep, specific business knowledge which enables operation at a strategic level and the development of strong relationships with internal and external finance customers and be a key and active member of senior executive fora. They act with integrity ensuring all finance activity is performed to the highest standards at all times.


Key Responsibilities

  • Play a leadership role in supporting the Group Financial Control & Company Secretary to develop and execute the business plan by providing financial insights on business performance
  • Support the Finance team during its transition phase from the current business unit model to a business partner support model
  • Support the development and introduction of an upgraded SAP financial systems
  • Work Closely with the integrated finance support team to ensure that business decisions are based on insights derived from robust data driven analysis
  • Support the business in decision making by working with integrated teams including analytics to support effective decision making
  • Be heavily involved in Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting of the business by challenging and reviewing management accounts, plans, budgets, and forecasts and providing decision support and direction for planning activities
  • Oversee project appraisals based on acceptable criteria i.e. IRR, NPV, Payback and Risk Profile in addition to Monitoring cost / benefits analysis post project implementation



Key Requirements:

The applicant should be a qualified Accountant or have a third level degree in a relevant finance or business discipline.

Deep Finance expertise and experience in the industry

Comfortable understanding of SAP finance accounting system structure
