The role

Opportunities have arisen for the role of Senior Accountant within the Group Finance Innovation Team in Glanbia Plc. These permanent opportunities are part of a newly established function supporting innovation and business critical projects across the Group, while delivering capacity and capability for Global and Regional finance teams across Accounting, FP&A, Supply Chain Operations Finance, Commercial Finance, Tax and Treasury.

 

Location

The base location of the roles will be in Ireland in any of our office locations in Kilkenny, Citywest, Dublin 24 or Waterford, with  hybrid working arrangements available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

   

The Senior Accountant will:

  • Be a part of the global finance team supporting both strategic and operational projects across the group
  • Be an agent of change, pro-actively supporting innovation and finding the best way to complete tasks
  • Proactively support information systems governance reviews and oversee subsequent process improvements
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the group to support exploitation of system, process and accounting opportunities as they arise
  • Evaluate and support discreet projects that progress the Group’s Finance vision and overall organisational strategy, within Corporate and Business Unit functions across all regions
  • Create capacity for teams engaged in initiatives at Global and Regional levels, supporting country level operations staff, facilitating capability and capacity to adopt and realize positive changes.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement and innovation that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Mentor and develop team members to achieve their potential and realise long term ambitions of the group.

 

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification & retain membership of the relevant accounting body
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience, encompassing a mix of more than one of financial reporting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Supply Chain Operations and Commercial Finance support. Big 4 experience or previous public company reporting experience preferable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate with stakeholders across various levels and functions
  • Self-starter with an appetite to embrace new challenges as they arise.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex Finance topics and the impact on financial reporting or business performance relative to our global presence.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail in their daily work, and a high level of accomplishment and motivation.
  • IFRS knowledge and proven experience of understanding, interpreting and applying international accounting standards is preferred
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative environment where the focus is on continuous improvement and the challenge to make it better.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to travel will be required
