FINANCIAL ANALYST

Location:     Madison, WI / Chicago, IL / Twin Falls, ID

JOB SUMMARY

This position is a key part of the Commercial Finance team for the global Cheese business. Main responsibilities include sales reporting, variance analysis and business partnering with key stakeholders, i.e. Commercial and Product & Innovation. Other including ad hoc analysis, planning support and preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for preparing various weekly and monthly reports as assigned. 
• Drive planning process, including model modification, updating, and analysis.
• Reconcile and load monthly customer & product profitability for analysis and reporting.
• Analyzes Gross Margin and Gross Profit to determine impact caused by volume, selling prices and costs.
• Compares actual results against business plan, forecast, and prior year.
• Assists in projections and forecasts, by major customers, product categories, and Account Managers.
• Provides accurate and timely financial reporting for the business unit.
• Prepare monthly summary and commentary for review meetings involving executive members.
• Liaises with various departments and partners with Product Managers to assist with data analysis and decision support.
• Inventory valuation and review along with provisioning of same.
• Value added margin reporting and analysis against various comparators.
• Weekly and monthly monitoring and reporting the impact of key customer billing condition types. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree. CPA, CMA or equivalent experience preferred.
• Mid level experience with preparing weekly/monthly reporting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills (SAP preferred)
• Financial reporting in food industry preferred
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and analytical individual that can meet deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
