Global Mobility Manager

 

A vacancy has arisen with Glanbia plc for a Global Mobility Manager.  This is a permanent opportunity and will report to the Group Head of Reward. 

 

Location

While likely to be initially working remotely due to current restrictions, the base location of the role will be Citywest, Dublin 24 OR Kilkenny, upon return to the workplace with a blended working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.

 

 

Overview

The purpose of this role is to provide critical support for Glanbia’s operational needs and talent management strategy by providing efficient, cost effective and compliant mobility end-to-end solutions.  This role will have responsibility for providing Group oversight and governance of the Mobility programme and framework and how it is applied across Glanbia.

 

Glanbia continues its global expansion, through organic growth and acquisition in new and existing markets.  Therefore, we require an agile workforce who can move across the organisation to support operational business needs and work on strategic projects in those markets.  Similarly, our talent programmes, from graduate to senior leadership levels, provide opportunities for development through rotations and secondments to our global business.

 

In particular, the role will be responsible for all Mobility activity across the Group including case and vendor management, ensuring compliance and providing mobility support, and direction to our Business Unit HR and leadership teams in its application locally.

 

Key elements of the role

  • Shapes and implements Glanbia’s global mobility policies, process and documentation seeking input from consultant bodies to ensure compliance and best in class approach.
  • Engages regularly with internal business community to seek their input and build capability in the adaption of the Mobility policy and process.
  • Continually assesses the mobility programme, assignment types and associated benefits to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure it continues to support the business needs effectively.
  • Is the lead and main contact on case management, collaborating with Business Unit HR by providing mobility support, direction and consulting on appropriate assignment options for individual cases including Domestic Moves and Volume Move Projects.
  • Oversees the mobility programme ensuring delivery on its service delivery commitments.
  • Engages and manages vendor relationships and performance measurement across immigration, relocation, tax. Ensures that vendors provide high quality experience to our internal stakeholders.
  • Delivers cost effective mobility support while maintaining appropriate levels of business unit support through means such as leveraging global supplier arrangements and negotiating best terms to match company requirements.
  • Ensures that BU’S are compliant focused in all jurisdictions, to manage company and personal risk and ensure good governance.
  • Coordinates internal stakeholder engagement in an efficient manner to allow all stakeholders to focus on the ‘value add’ aspects of their respective roles.
  • Leads out a Mobility programme which endorses a Considered Employee Experience, opportunity for development and recognises the change for both the employee and family.
  • Establishes and maintains a robust approach to track and govern all mobility cases, providing reporting and analysis to business unit HRLT on performance and areas of compliance and risk.
  • Preparation of assignment cost estimates, with input from relevant parties, for BU HR/leadership to support to the assignment planning decision process.
  • Partners with Glanbia Shared Services & Group Finance functions and other internal and external partners to ensure that advice is taken where needed and processes are in place to support people moves and the Company around taxation, payroll, health insurance, etc.
  • Provides regular communication, education to inform the business of policy & regulation updates and provide practical advice in the application of the Mobility programme and framework.
  • Other ad hoc projects designed to enhance the Mobility, Reward and Employee agenda across the Glanbia Group.
  • Develops strong relationship with HR, Payroll teams, Indirect Tax and Line Management to establish one global Centre of Excellence on immigration, personal tax and mobility.  Determines the global matrix of ‘who’s who’ in for immigration and mobility, internal & external, using this network for case management and policy/process definition.
  • Administrative support for this role will be provided through HR People Services, HR Managers and Global Reward.  

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3rd level qualification in a Business or HR related discipline.
  • At least 5 years Mobility and/or tax experience in a Mobility team/professional services firm with general knowledge of expat tax and salary / payroll related issues
  • At least 3 years of managerial experience

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in a similar role; at least 5 years’ experience in a related business environment is desirable.
  • Expert knowledge of Global Mobility processes including experience with immigration or visa requirements, finance methodology and/or taxation, relocation advise and a sound grasp of what makes mobility programmes successful
  • Excellent knowledge and proven experience in supporting the mobility requirements of a similar company with experience in a Center of Excellence environment preferred. Demonstrating ability in understanding, interpreting and applying the standards is essential.
  • Agile, to be able to respond quickly to evolving business requirements.
  • Extensive MS Office experience and knowledge, Excel in particular.
  • Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator with experience in an ability to effectively communicate complex information verbally or written with Senior Management, colleagues at all levels and external service providers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships within HR, Reward, Talent and other functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with ability to act both at a strategic and operational level.
  • Strong process and compliance orientation, data analytical and insights whilst balancing the needs of the business.
  • Strong initiative to work proactively resolving problems with appropriate stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to act as change agent, remain business-focused and be commercially aware.
  • Flexibility to be able to meet the demands of varying needs across different companies within Glanbia.
  • Solid Project Management skills
  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert and consultant, providing expert advice and recommendations for each business to use in their decisions.
