Materials Supply Manager

Glanbia Performance Nutrition UK is one of Europe’s leading sports and specialist Nutrition Companies developing and manufacturing a range of Sports nutritional bars and ready to mix drinks. We are now looking to recruit a Material / Ingredient Planner to work within the Factory Planning team. This is a key role within our organisation and one which we are continually developing as the business grows.



  • Partner with Factory management including operations, customer service, finance, R&D and quality to ensure EMEA supply and availability objectives are met.
  • In partnership with production planning and manufacturing requirements, deliver a materials supply plan ensuring a balance between high level of coverage, inventory on site above safety stock settings and zero excess and aged inventory.
  • Liaising with Procurement Managers ensuring sourcing plans are aligned to contracted volumes. Liaising with Site Quality team to understand QI lead times and escalate to resolution with suppliers in event of a quality concern being identified.
  • Share forecasted demand from JDA with all suppliers so they can plan their business around ours.
  • Review material SS settings quarterly and sign off with head of planning and Procurement managers.
  • Review and action activities to progress and resolve Excess Ingredient inventory.
  • Support the daily production meeting - addressing any points arising, and support trials required for new ingredients and alternative suppliers.
  • Maintain, monitor and update materials master data in SAP and JDA, including for example units per pallet, MOQ, Incoming Inspection lead time, purchasing lead time and Safety Stock level.
  • Update and maintain in SAP/JDA LEDD (Latest Estimate Delivery Date) for all open Ingredient PO’s.
  • Support the factory planning team in cross training and holiday coverage as needed.
  • Analyse and report weekly Materials planning KPI’s for global Supply Chain deck.

  • Degree in supply chain or APICS with similar experience in a factory planning role in a fast paced environment.
  • Previous experience working with SAP and / or JDA
  • Strong numeracy skills along with ability to work under pressure, with multiple challenges and the need to balance conflicting business requirements
  • Be flexible and be able to work as part of a team, cross functional within a factory environment as well as across an EMEA reporting structure.
  • Be computer literate (Excel, Word and E-Mail etc.).
  • Possess an excellent verbal and written communication
