National Account Manager - Glanbia Performance Nutrition 

Glanbia Performance Nutrition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glanbia located in Downers Grove, Illinois. GPN’s brand portfolio consists of – Optimum Nutrition, BSN, Isopure, Think!, Nutramino ABB, Body & Fit, Amazing Grass and SlimFast, each with its own brand essence. 




The National Account Manager will drive Optimum Nutrition’s Amino Energy Sparkling sales through market share growth and new distribution in grocery/food accounts across the U.S. Account management responsibilities include building and developing strong relationships with grocery buyers and brokers, bringing Optimum Nutrition’s energy + hydration beverage to life through development of collaborative business plans that exceed customer expectations, that are aligned with our brand strategies. The goal is to ensure achievement of the sales budget and objective while managing the margins that impact EBITA.



Duties and Responsibilities of the National Account Manager:

  • Leads Amino Energy Sparkling Energy Drink Business with Key Grocery/Food Retailers across the U.S.
  • Responsible for all aspects of customer development including opportunity identification, relationship management, broker management, customer service interface, trade fund planning/management and annual business planning
  • Strong driver of customer agenda - Manages and leads collaborative joint business planning with strategic goals to develop and execute key partnership initiatives, identifying category selling opportunities and deliver category based selling stories that drive amino energy sparkling sales
  • Develops key account business plans including goals, priority initiatives, major actions, and internal support needed utilizing strategic selling as it pertains to placement, assortment, promotion, pricing plans within organizational guidelines
  • Develops relationships with all key decision makers, internal and external
  • Collaborates with cross-functional representatives to ensure that GPN delivers the full depth of resources that result in growth of Amino Energy share position across food/grocery channels
  • Communicates customer execution elements to Amino Energy distributor leads (DSD and wholesalers) to ensure enablement and timely execution
  • Keeps abreast of competitive landscape and activities across key retailers with highly effective communication in a timely manner
  • Manage T&E to budgeted levels




  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7+ years of Beverage experience in Key Accounts and DSD networks
  • Customer Collaboration, Business Development and Sales Strategies
  • Broker experience
  • Category Analysis: Spins, IRI, Nielson
  • CRM and Microsoft office proficient



Location: Remote w/ ability to travel

Travel Expectations: 50%

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in CA, CO, NY, or WA. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The annual salary for this role is $102,000-$125,000
