We have an exciting career opportunity for an Over the Counter Assistant to join a thriving pharmacy based in Campile, Co Wexford. This is an established pharmacy at the heart of the community. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering a high standard of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve customers in a timely manner and treat with dignity and respect.
  • Have a good working relationship with both the Pharmacist and the FOS manager and engage wholly with all tasks outlined by them.
  • Avail of all opportunities to talk to your customers and offer advice in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Use every opportunity to support your customer and deliver a gold standard service.
  • Be fully up to speed with all General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
  • Engage and be available for regular training throughout the year to keep abreast of industry knowledge, legislation and regulations.
  • Read & familiarize yourself with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures and Behaviours.
  • Fully engage and keep up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
  • Follow relevant SOP’s to ensure that the receipt of prescriptions is fully adhered to.
  • Pass on the pharmacist’s advice to patients when needed.
  • Always be on hand to offer advice on common ailments, products and services available.
  • Ensure response to all customer queries is dealt with in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure and assist in the cleaning and merchandising of the OTC and FOS area to aid an adequate workflow and to enhance customer shopping experience.
  • Take full responsibility for pricing and packing away of all Over The Counter (OTC) and FOS merchandise.
  • Check expiry dates on deliveries from wholesalers and report all shortages in a timely manner.
  • Assume responsibility of price checking new stock against existing stock.
  • Ensure a robust stock rotation and expiry date checking system is enforced and compiled with.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a retail environment, preferably pharmaceutical based
  • Performing all clerical duties necessary to ensure that a pharmacy is running efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls
  • Manage the cash register
  • Restock shelves with medication and other pharmaceutical supplies
  • Excellent customer service skills
