Reporting to the R&D Team Leader – US market , the role of the Food Technologist is to:
- Develop, match or improve flavor applications that enable us to expand our business opportunities in sports nutrition, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, bakeries, dairy, confectionery, etc.;
- Create and develop innovative food application concepts in collaboration with the sales, aromatics and marketing teams:
- Ensure the feasibility of the recipe (reproducibility, nutritional calculations, appearance of foods, transition to the industrial production stage, etc.);
- Be able to explain and present these concepts to teams involved or current and potential customers;
- Bring new ideas and lookout for new trends (integration of new active ingredients, new aromatic, etc.);
- Ensure sound management of data related to all the application recipes developed to ensure their consultation is simple and effective;
- Perform nutritional calculations related to the applications developed in the appropriate software:
- Compile the data required for the calculations and ensure their validity;
- Ensure the conformity of the results obtained.
- Acquire, and share know-how and scientific knowledge related to applications with the team (cooking techniques, preparation, conservation, etc.);
- Ensure vigilance to keep abreast of new trends in functional ingredients;
- Advise on the composition of flavors to be used for a specific application or process to prevent potential interactions of aromatic compounds;
- Prepare different products that will be presented during customer visits and at industry events.
- Participate in the sustainability of the aromatic collection;
- Know and enforce the GHP (Good Hygiene Practices) / GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the industry;
- Comply with company policies / instructions related to the quality system in place (Food Safety Plan / SQF);
- Perform all other related tasks.
required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry or other related field or equivalent experience;
- 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in the flavor industry or in the food industry;
- Ability to identify basic tastes;
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices in the food industry;
- Knowledge of SQF standards.
