The Opportunity 

Join our dynamic category management team and play a pivotal role in shaping global strategy and sourcing processes. We’re looking for a dedicated professional who can collaborate cross-functionally to set category strategy and source the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). This role will support Category Managers, Product Supply, PSM, Commercial/Sales Team, Quality, and Product Development. This permanent position will report to the Senior Category Manager and duties will include but are not limited to the following;  

  • Develop and optimize a robust global strategy for assigned categories.
  • Support the global cross-functional strategic sourcing projects.
  • Create Category Intelligence sheets for high-impact materials.
  • Collaborate with S&OP team on key ingredients communications/updates.
  • Provide timely communication to Finance and Commercial team on market and price changes.
  • Support other divisions/locations for procurement activities as required.
  • Mitigate cost variances to budgets; working closing with Operations Team members.

 

   The Skills you will bring to the team

  • University degree in a related field (equivalent experience in lieu of education may be considered).
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in operations, supply chain, supplier management or procurement areas.
  • Ability to negotiate with diverse set of suppliers across multiple regions.
  • Highly detailed with a systematic approach, sense of responsibility and positive customer focus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (both written and verbal). Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with all levels of personnel.
  • Analytical with superior problem-solving skills over near and long-term planning horizons.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English required.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong math skills, and knowledge of the metric system, are required.

Where and how you will work  

The opportunity will be based in Carlsbad, CA or West Haven, CT with hybrid working arrangements. Some in office days may be required.

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.  Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.  The annual salary for California based employees for this role is $81,000-$86,000.
