The Country Manager, South Korea will play a key role in delivery of the growth objectives of the region by managing the P&L performance for Korea which includes sell in & sell-out sales, promotion management and execution, branch and store visits, inventory and merchandising for the Korea market. This role will manage Key Accounts, key activations and marketing initiatives to drive business performance.


Reporting into the General Manager Asia and with additional support from the SEA regional office and marketing team based in Singapore, this role will manage sales activity, assist with strategy & drive relationships with key customers, senior engagement within key accounts, distributors and major channel partners to achieve sales targets.


This role will also manage on the ground business development and step out growth opportunities and channel expansion (includes Gyms, ecommerce & FDM).


The opportunity where you will make an impact:

  • Develop quarterly sales planning  and sales execution plan to ensure trade support plans are in place, understood by our customers and implemented in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Support supervisor with development of annual / quarterly channel and customer activation plans
  • This candidate will be responsible for key account management and data analysis to support all channel growth by delivering distribution and strategy implementation
  • Act as an expert in the business by having thorough knowledge of competition, market trends, suggested retail pricing and promotional opportunities and threats. Communicate this knowledge internally to appropriate departments to maximize selling opportunities
  • Responsible for executing trade marketing spends and driving optimal Return-on-Investment (ROI)
  • Consolidate monthly sell-out and pricing information for given online/offline retailers and also competitors
  • Monitor competitive pricing across all online/offline retailers for authorized and un-authorized sellers
  • Co-ordinate the logistics for stocks / inventory / gifts with purchase / product bundling between the Importer and the online/offline retailers, Gyms, FDM chains & ecommerce portals for effective operations
  • Development of new and current accounts through relationship building and effective marketing techniques
  • Responsible for developing merchandising standard &execution at all locations based on marketing and promotional strategies
  • Range & layout guidance together with space planning
  • Co-ordination, planning and participation in regular distributor meetings
  • Support line manager in development & implementation of shopper research briefs and programs
  • The incumbent would be responsible to drive the annual target as ascertained


What you will bring to GPN:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/business or  related field
  • 10+ plus years of experience in sales and/or FDM Sales & Ecommerce channel experience preferably in Korea or in other countries.
  • Specialized training in merchandising and marketing activations
  • Experience guiding/leading a team
  • Experience in analysing data sources with emphasis on data interpretation is desirable Experience of Trade Marketing/ Channel strategy development, and company/ brand short-term & long-term strategy development for sufficient growth building block
  • Previous category management and / or key account experience is desirable
  • Experience setting up a team/ Korea (or Japan) branch office or lead it (small branch) remotely working with regional or global head highly regarded.
