The Opportunity 

 

Direct engineering, maintenance, and project activities for MWC.  Ensure engineering projects, initiatives, processes are in conformance with established policies and objectives, recommend changes, review progress, and approve cost estimates/proposals. Determine needed repairs for all equipment, buildings and utilities. Plan and direct the related maintenance activities in conjunction with the production schedules. This permanent position will report to the Site Director.  Essential functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Manage the capital expenditure plan
  • Liaison between facilities and outside engineers and contractors.
  • Project Management – provide technical/engineering recommendations for new equipment/technology.
  • Maintenance Management – coordinate and direct day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
  • Manage project teams, Utilities Department, and Engineering team in day to day activities.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards and mandates.
  • Research issues & incidents with internal teams, business partners and customers in a collaborative manner that includes professional, honest and transparent communication

  The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
