MWC is a state of the art cheese and whey production facility in St. Johns, MI. MWC is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Select Milk Producers Inc. (Select).

 

Job Summary

Communicates with all departments to ensure customer requirements are met.  Issues and maintains accurate records for all materials moving through the spare parts warehouse.  Performs inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy.  Maintains a safe working environment and reports any safety issues.  Inspect deliveries for accuracy prior to receiving them.  Works with the Team Lead to provide solutions to any issues that may arise.  Participates in team meetings and communication to ensure a smooth workflow.

 

Essential Functions

  • Maintains a safe working environment

  • Performs accurate inventory cycle counts
  • Issues parts to plant personnel utilizing the SAP program
  • Inspects deliveries for accuracy
  • Pick and place items utilizing a fork truck
  • Communicates with plant personnel
  • Creates manual requisitions
  • Model Glanbia values, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures materials are restocked
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of MWC non-negotiables
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health  Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

  • Assists with restocking GMP cabinets
  • Use basic hand tools
  • Utilizes a fork truck to pick and place materials
  • Ensures all plant trainings are up to date
  • Understands and complies with all SOP’s
  • Continually improves the stores and processes.
  • Communicates with parts suppliers
  • Prepare and ship repairable maintenance parts to outside vendors
  • Maintain reference catalogs, instruction manuals, and equipment records.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in verbal and written communication and in behavior.
  • Supports maintenance work order process as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Requires an Associate’s Degree in a business or related field and a minimum of two years experience or equivalent experience in a warehouse related environment
  • Ability to work in an individual and team setting
  • Ability to read and interpret safety/environmental documents and operating/maintenance manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in various situations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others
  • Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Ability to obtain a PIT operating permit.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly involves talking or listening, standing and walking, and the use of hands and fingers.

  • May be exposed to loud noise levels (i.e. manufacturing equipment).
  • May be exposed to humidity, intense heat, and fumes and toxic chemicals.
  • May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.

 

Travel Requirements

    • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
