Customer Business Manager - Canada

The Customer Business Manager, National Accounts- Canada will play a critical role in managing our Healthy Lifestyle business for the Canadian landscape, including managing our existing brick & mortar business and strategic e-tail partners. Identifying and executing revenue generating growth initiatives and exploring white space opportunities. Additionally, this position will be responsible for building and strengthening Glanbia’s relationships with existing partners, developing strategies to increase consumer engagement, brand awareness and conversion to optimize sales growth.

 

This person should have a strong grasp of current Healthy Lifestyle/ Sports Nutrition landscape, a great understanding of the tools and strategies needed to be able to lead the sales for Glanbia at Food/Drug/Mass, as well as experience managing brokers. This position will collaborate with many people in the company including retail marketing, innovation, finance, and operations in translating and supporting key company initiatives and campaigns as it relates to our key partners.  Specifically, this position will be accountable for existing partners including but not limited to Walmart, Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, Farm Boy, Well.ca, 7/11, London Drugs and many Independent stores across Canada, as well as evaluating and vetting potential new platforms and partners. 

 

Sales Development 

  • Achieve assigned quarterly and annual revenue and profit goals for your Canadian customers.
  • Support your manager in the sales development activities of the Food, Drug, Mass & Natural channel, while managing brokers.  
  • Manage monthly/quarterly yearly item forecasting and budget planning. 
  • Support Director, Canada with internal HQ sales activities as needed.


Brick & Mortar and E-Com Management

  • Execute Glanbia content and merchandising according to plan to drive the business while ensuring a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Work closely with Broker in Canada to help manage the business.
  • Work closely with all existing and new retailers and develop marketing strategies to grow sales and monitor execution efficacy
  • Manage performance marketing campaigns.  Work with internal and external partners on brand/sku priorities and keyword selection.
  • Drive development of marketing campaigns for Canada (in partnership with Marketing), ensure the experience is on-brand and aligned with marketing to drive acquisition, sales, and retention.
  • Manage and enforce pricing integrity across the web, leverage MAP tracking software.
  • Build strong customer relationships that result in partnership opportunities which drive sales, market share and profit.
  • Provide account specific promotional plans and recommendations to Director to ensure achievement of account growth goals and develop ongoing customer plans that are in alignment with corporate and customer goals.
  • Demonstrate effective influencing skills with internal and external constituents.  
  • Ability to interact with customer representatives at all levels and add value to the process
  • Reviewing and reporting sales and inventory trends regularly 
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines while managing multiple projects. 
  • Track analytics, assess campaign effectiveness, and recommend optimizations based on performance.
  • Stay up-to-date and report on trends including sites, merchandising tools and applications from key competitors. Leverage consumer insights to drive opportunities

 

Business Development  
Continuous Business Development mindset is critical to success in this role. Will be responsible to expand business in existing customers and support the organization in incremental opportunities that may arise from various sources including this individual uncovering them directly. 
  
Administrative 

  • Complete required sales reporting activities. 
  • Timely, complete and accurate submission of promotional discounts. 
  • Provide on-going communication of significant competitive activity to Sales and Marketing leadership. 


Experience

  • 5+ years consumer products experience in the Food/ Drug/ Mass or Healthy Lifestyle space is required. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Sales or Marketing. 
  • Leadership Skills. The ability to motivate, lead and evaluate direct and retail brokers. Exploit strengths and react appropriately to weaknesses. 
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills and positive attitude a must. 
  • Relevant industry experience preferred but not required.  
  • Persuasive Selling Skills. Ability to build and maintain customer and consumer relationships based on fact-based selling of product benefits, leading to development of an expanded customer base and growth of the existing base. 
  • Communication and Presentation Skills.
    • Ability to develop and present promotional plans and product information to retail stakeholders. 
    • Strong eye for creative sensibilities, visual storytelling, personalized copywriting
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools
  • Self-starter and able to work independently in a less-structured environment
  • Must be creative and innovative with very high attention to detail
  • Act with sense of passion, energy, enthusiasm and urgency – a positive attitude required
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously
  • Proven capability for problem solving and never-ending resourcefulness; fearless
  • Can do attitude with a desire to make the world simply amazing.
